Recently, New Media faculty from William Penn shared their expertise at the Midwest Popular Culture Association Conference in Iowa City. Wilton Wright (Chair of Humanities), Max Leonida (Film Artist in Residence), Brant Bollman (Director of Theatre), Kaitlin Ardolino (Co-Chair of New Media), and Sam Allen Wright (Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Co-Chair of New Media) participated in a panel titled Lights, Camera, Pedagogy, and Puppets: Student Engagement and the Arts at a Small, Midwest College.

Each faculty member shared insights on infusing creativity into a small college setting, with Max, Wilton, and Brant presenting individually and Kaitlin and Sam presenting together. The panel and conference were a great success, showcasing how our New Media faculty continually strive not only to expand their own knowledge and enhance how they teach our students, but also to share their expertise with others in the field.

William Penn University’s New Media students are gaining hands-on experience in professional filmmaking through Professor Max Leonida’s feature film, Winter Harvest. From filming on campus in Iowa to working on location in Italy, students have played key roles in production and post-production, collaborating with industry professionals and cutting-edge technology.

Creative Arts & New Media Visit Day was a blast! 🎨🎥

High school students explored a wide range of activities from flying drones and prop creation to improv games, creative writing, film production, and zombie makeup artistry.

The highlight? A live concert from LADAMA, where students joined the band on stage to play instruments!
