Ciao Camp Silverwing!

Food service, by Chef Adam Dodworth, starting at 545pm.

It’s Italian pasta meal tonight, family style!

Carb up before heading down to the night air show because Camp Silverwing will be closing down to head down to the flight line ourself too.

Come and say goodbye to the entire crew.

Tonight is the 2nd Annual Camp Silverwing Co****le tournament.

Weather permitting. Check Camp Silverwing socials for updates later this evening.

Register by 8pm

Competition starts around 9pm

Tonight will just be light snacks (chips and such) and coolers with cold refreshments. There is no dinner served tonight just fyi.

Thursday at Camp Silverwing is all about getting there early!

Service starts around 630pm.

Tonight's menu is 'Smorgasbord Av Silverwing' because it's an "all that's left menu". A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Night three of Camp Silverwing coming in HOT and tonight we're celebrating McCauley who are themselves celebrating 85 years of service in the aviation industry.

Important updates: Tonight's food service starts at 6pm! It'll go till it's gone. Some might head down to the flight line for the night's show.

All will have fun, that much is true about Camp Silverwing.

Last night was one of them old fashioned "real good times".

Thank you to all that came and experienced Camp Silverwing last night.

From the amazing tacos and food of Chef Adam & Mackenzi Dodworth of The Copper Kettle, to Nick Hoffman making memories with his fiddle- it was one for the record books.

AWow, what a way to get Camp Silverwing started. Thank you to all who came and enjoyed a night of great food and friends to kick off 2023 Camp Silverwing.

OldGreenPlane (“Butch”)

Welcome to our newest project - OldGreenPlane. Craig and I can't wait to share with you some adventures that we're cooking up, pictures from our journeys, and guests that accompany us on our travels.

Even though this looks like the beginning, it's far from it. This project actually began in the early 1960's when my dad, "Butch Caneva" bought this plane with a friend of his, and began flying my mom, our family, and many friends around the mid-west. (Mostly Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.)

He sold the plane when we moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota in the mid 70's, but he never once missed an opportunity to look up at a plane flying overhead and tell me "someday we're going to find niner-niner-six-two-tango, bring it back to our family, and share with you the gift of flight." Like a lot of intentions we have, other things got in the way of his dreams, and mine.

Growing up, my friend Jason and I would actually run around our yard pretending to be airplanes and yell out "I'm niner-niner-six-two-tango!" at the top of our lungs. So yeah, I guess you could say this plane has been a major part of my life - whether it was with us or not.

As my father aged, he battled everything from Cluster Headaches to testicular and colon cancer. After all that however, it was Dementia that ultimately took him from us.

As the disease progressed, there'd be days that it seemed he'd forgotten everything. But I'll always remember him, regardless of his state, telling me a flying story, then reassuring me that we'd find that Cessna and he'd still fly with me relying on checklists and my younger mind.

Sadly, my dad passed away on Dec. 27th, 2012. Even though we'd gotten to fly a few times prior to his passing, he never did get to see his old plane.

In the fall of 2015, my brother (who works for the FAA and was investigating an accident involving a Cessna 182) texted me this picture and said "that's dad's plane!". I really can't explain the giddy feeling that stirred inside me. I HAD to buy that plane.

On the 4th anniversary of my father's passing, the plane was mine and just a few weeks later, it landed in Lincoln NE (KLNK) and was parked in it's new home, ready for it's next mission - One that Craig (@spilk22), and I (@ccaneva) will document and share with you
