And with that.. the 2025 season comes to an end..🎄✨

We want to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the Walrad Family Light Show this year. Seeing cars lined up, hearing the music playing, and watching kids light up as the show starts is something we will never take for granted.

The messages, comments, waves from the street, and stories you shared mean more than you know. Hearing how much the show brought joy to families, created traditions, or simply gave people a reason to slow down and smile makes every long night at the computer and every cold day setting up lights completely worth it.

This show truly would not be what it is without the support of this community, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

From our family to yours, thank you for another unforgettable season. We will see you next year ❤️🎶🎄

🎄 We can’t believe Christmas week is here already! 🎄

As we head into Christmas, we just want to say thanks to everyone who’s stopped by, waved, honked, or sent a message this season... it truly means more than you know ❤️

Quick little update! We made a change to the Odd Days playlist tonight, and it was also brought to my attention that the days were flipped in the display. So the even playlist was actually playing on the odd days and vice versa. That should all be fixed now.

Everything should be correct going forward.

WOW… what an amazing turnout tonight. ❤️
We’re still honestly blown away by how many people stopped by. Whether you grabbed a cup of cocoa, hung out by the fire, chatted with us for a bit, or just swung through to enjoy the lights, it meant the world to us.

Nights like this are exactly why we do all of this. Seeing families bundled up, kids running around with candy canes, people smiling and taking it all in… that joy is what keeps us going every single year. It makes all the hours of building, wiring, freezing, and planning completely worth it.

We’re just really thankful for this little community and for everyone who took the time to stop out tonight. You all make this so much fun.

🎄❄️We’re so excited for our annual Hot Cocoa Night on December 6th! It’s one of our favorite nights to share Christmas lights, music, and free hot cocoa with anyone who wants to stop by.

With that said, we’re keeping an eye on the weather. There’s a chance of a snowstorm coming through, and since Matt works for the Iowa DOT and is on call to plow, we may need to postpone for everyone’s safety. We’ll make the call as soon as we can and keep this page updated.

Thank you for understanding, we hope the weather cooperates so we can enjoy the night together! ☕🌨️

If you can, try to get out and visit as many displays as possible this month! It means the world to the folks who spend countless hours planning, building, sequencing, and setting up these shows to make the season magical for everyone.

Many displays are already up and running, so bundle up, load the family in the car, and enjoy the lights! ✨

🎄✨ It’s OPENING NIGHT! ✨🎄

If you feel like braving the cold before the storm rolls in later tonight/tomorrow, swing on by and catch the very first run of this year’s light show! The lights are on, the songs are ready, and everything finally came together out in the yard.

If the weather keeps you home tonight, no worries at all! The show runs nightly through January 4th, so there’s plenty of time to come out and enjoy it.

This year we’re running two different playlists: one on even-numbered days and one on odd-numbered days. Each has 9 songs, mixing in some brand-new ones and a few favorites we’ve brought back. Both playlists run just under 30 minutes each, so there’s always something fresh to see when you stop by.

This really is my favorite part of the whole season… watching people pull up, hearing kids get excited, and seeing families hang out for a few songs and just soak it all in. Makes all the late nights building, wiring, and sequencing totally worth it.

Hope to see some of you tonight! Either way, wishing everyone an awesome start to the holiday season! 🎅🎶✨

We've been living and breathing Christmas lights for the past month. Hours of sequencing songs, climbing ladders, fixing outlines, pushing what feels like a million pixels into coro props, and running enough wire to circle the house twice.

But honestly? It’s 1000% worth it, because the show is finally ready… and we cannot wait for everyone to see it this year.

We’re sitting at around 3,500 lights, added a few new props, and dropped in several new songs that turned out WAY better than I expected. There’s something about seeing it all come together that makes the late nights totally worth it! 💖

📅 Opening Night: This Friday, Nov 28th at 5 PM
📅 Runs Nightly through Jan 5th
⏰ Sun–Thurs: 5–9 PM
⏰ Fri–Sat: 5–11 PM
