Hi friends!! I’m so sorry that I’ve been away for so long, especially at this busy time of year for ornaments and gifting. My 82 year old mom fell over a month ago and broke her hip and we’ve been busy getting her rehabbed following surgery. But I’m getting back into creating, taking and filling orders for ornaments for this Holiday season and have some new ones to share.
These are going up in the Honey’s Craft Room Private Group today, but I wanted to share them here, as well. Remember, to order any ornaments you see on this page, you’ll have to join the private group to place your order. This is for all of our safety in crazy Facebook land. Just send me a request to join, answer the question and we’ll get your order going.
These are some very special ornaments that I know my military friends will love. I designed these after receiving a request for a Gold Star ornament from a Gold Star mom. I make many military ornaments, but I’ve never made Service Flag ornaments. After lots of cutting, ironing vinyl and moving pieces of fabric on a block, I came up with these ornaments to represent the Service Flags for Gold Star, Blue Star, and Silver Star families. They are very special to me because I was a Blue Star mom for a long time and what that flag meant to me is hard to describe.
The Gold Star signifies the ultimate sacrifice a family has made when they’ve lost a loved one in active service of our country. This ornament was the most special ornament I think I’ve ever made and I’ve made lots of special ornaments for friends, family and customers over the years.
The Blue Star signifies that a family has a loved one, usually a parent, child or sibling, actively serving in the military, stateside, abroad or deployed. These banners represent the hope we all have, as we await the return of our loved ones from service.
The Silver Star recognizes our service members who have been wounded or became ill during their service of our country. These service members have usually received a Silver Star Medal for their service and sacrifice.
As military families, we are so proud of our service members and we love to show it! These ornaments, as well as all of the ornaments shown on the page are available now, for order. If you’d like one for yourself, or to gift to someone in your life, please join the HCR Private Group to place your order.
Thank you all for your support over the years. I have enjoyed making ornaments for you and your friends and family. As most of you know, I love creating personal and special ornaments, so if you have something in mind, let me know. Let’s work together to create it.
