After a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision to close Prairie Dog Art & Gifts.

We’re planning for our final day to be about four weeks from now, and between now and then we’ll be working on getting everything wrapped up, packed up, and moved on to its next destination.

Starting now, everything in the Shop is on sale. If there’s something you’ve had your eye on, now is a very good time to come take another look. Every purchase also means a little less for us to pack and move. 😁📦

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported the Shop over the past two years, whether you bought something, stopped in to visit, shared a post, participated in an event, or simply encouraged us along the way.

This isn’t the end of creating. Far from it. It’s really a change in direction, and I’m starting to get excited about my next adventure.😁😁😁😁😁

For now, though, we’ve officially begun Operation: Closing Time. ❤️📦

When Orbit Burger closed, Goat Brian found its eight-foot alien mascot, Earl, discarded with one arm broken off. Naturally, he loaded Earl onto the Jeep, brought him back to the Department, bribed a Printer Boy to open the Repair Annex delivery doors, and repaired the damage with duct tape. Earl now resides in the Breakroom, where he serves as a coat rack, seasonal display, and evidence that Goat Brian should not be left unsupervised near abandoned roadside burger joints.

My number is 620-412-3627. Set up will be 8 -9:30 AM on Saturday, July 11.

So...what IS the Department of P.H.U.C. Studies?

The short answer: it’s a fictional archive, an art project, a tiny institution, a story world, and a growing collection of prints, stickers, books, field kits, odd characters, and useful nonsense.

The longer answer: The Department of P.H.U.C. Studies, short for Polite Horrors for Unusual Children, is a world I’m building piece by piece through illustration, writing, 3D printing, miniature sets, handmade objects, and whatever strange idea crawls out of the Breakroom next.

It’s full of unusual staff members, missing records, field guides, department notices, gentle absurdities, internal weather, cryptids, wonderments, and things that are hard to explain but easy to recognize once you’ve felt them.

Prairie Dog Art & Gifts is serving as the civilian access point for the Department, which means P**C items will be available through the shop and through the upcoming website: P**Carchives.com.

Launch Day is coming in about 20 days, and the first round of items will include staff stickers, art prints, field/archive-inspired pieces, 3D printed characters, and other approved materials from the Department.

Basically: I’m building a whole imaginary institution out of art, story, tiny objects, and stubborn joy.

And now you have a file. We’re expecting you.
