“Legend of Tomokie” statue, a monumental concrete sculpture located at Tomoka State Park in Ormond Beach, Florida. Created in 1955 by artist Fred Dana Marsh, this 45-foot-tall work depicts a dramatic scene from a Timucua Native American legend. Chief Tomokie, a fierce warrior leader, is shown atop a shell mound (symbolized by the swirling white base) defending his territory against invaders. However, the legend takes a tragic turn: Tomokie had sacrificed young maidens to appease the gods during a drought, enraging his daughter Oleeta (the warrior princess visible in wider shots aiming an arrow at him). Surrounding him are his loyal warriors, emerging from the mound to fight back.

Went and saw Polynesian Fire Luau In Daytona earlier tonight and it was absolutely goregeous and fun.

Trying to take photographs in the audience in low light and action is not an easy feat, but with many photos that were nearly blurs or the performer cut off or in an unflattering facial expression these were the ones that stood out and exemplified the beauty, action, and fun of the performance.

Went to see the winter home of John D. Rockefeller, and it did not disappoint. It has now been turned into c community center for Ormond Beach. After many years of being boarded up and left to decay and vandalism there is very little to honestly is left of its original grandeur there has been painstaking work to restore it to its glory while. Those involved have restored it beautifully, but also have transformed it into a an area that serves their community.

In my opinion it is good to keep history and things remembered, but letting an area grow and still be something more than just a museum and time capsule that cannot be used is a wonderful idea. If you ever get a chance to visit I highly recommend it.

I struggle with night photography, especially with action shots like this from Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade, but I was somewhat pleased with this capture of Tinker Bell. To me there is not enough sharpness to the image and cannot see the details that I should be able to showcase, but nonetheless I am not completely disappointed with the outcome of this.

It was a lovely day on the beach, but the storm started rolling in and cut the enjoyment short. Yet, the dark clouds rolling in overtaking the beautiful sunlit sky made for a compelling story of how quickly things can change. Even with the disappointment of the storm it created a beauty that needed to be captured before running the car for safety from rain and lightening.

The colors were cleaned up and enhanced to magnify the beauty that was in the experience.

Red River Gorge is full of beautiful and amazing landscapes and need no touches from man to add to how impressive it is, yet this tunnel seems to add to the scene and that it belongs there. While man made, it has awe inspiring elements that just seem to fit in with the gorge without feeling intrusive or inappropriate.

The beauty of Cumberland Falls is absolutely stunning and while pictures can give a glimpse of the beauty seeing it in person is far more captivating.

Old farmsteads have a beauty to them, but sad that they have gone into disrepair and the land is no longer being used to the capacity that it once was. Farmers are an often unnoticed hero in our society that is needed and as it is said once the farmland is developed into something else it is lost forever.

I have purchased a scanner to start archiving some of my physical photographs, and to also do edits on them that I was unable to do when I was truly a novice in understanding anything about photography, and hopefully I can edit them up a bit and acquire the end concept that my eye was seeing but unable to do it with film and sending them off to be developed.

This performance was full of energy and excitement which is next to impossible to capture in a still photo, but I loved the way this came out. There was a huge amount of blue lighting onto the stage and caused his guitar to turn from a red to color you see now, I tried to find a way to restore the color of the guitar to what truly was, but it refused to look right so I embraced what the stage lightening gave me with this color and accepted it. Sometimes you just have to accept what is and let the photograph guide you in the art that is wanting to create. I can see flaws and room for improvement within the photo, but chose to share it anyway because I just like it for what it is and it is not a horrible picture, I just know that it could have been better and in time I will learn how to operate the camera and editing tools to give what I envision life.
