Hello dear Patrons and Friends:

We are often asked where is FLTP these days? What is the next project?

While our physical doors are closed in Orlando, our creation of art and opportunities have not diminished. For our many friends, patrons and fans we are still around an active.

Lowrie can be found being busy working on her new film projects with our good friends over at Rouge Chimera Films(based here in Florida) and doing well in the horror film circuit. Also, if you ever find yourselves in Richmond, VA, you may catch a ghostly glimpse of her as she gives ghost and ghouls tours of the historic city.

Daniel and I continue to work with and help create magic at several places. We have worked with Moonlight Players In Clermont and The Melon Patch Players. Most of time and energy is working with Rhonda Wilson and Star Center Theatre back in the town where our creativity began, Gainesville, Florida.

Our current project on stage is DRESMGIRLS. We would love to see you all come visit this wonderful, evolving space and theatre group. I have had the honor to work with Rhonda and her group for many years when FLTP started, and have reconnectEd to help direct and create some wonderful shows with them.

If you loved what we did with FLTP, you will love what we are doing at The Star. Pleas come see us and them. An investment in the arts, is an investment in our future.

Dear Patrons and Friends of FantasyLand Theatrical Productions,

I am writing you all today on behalf of myself and the Board of Directors of FantasyLand Theatrical Productions at The POINTE Performing Arts Center.

We as a company have produced quality productions out of our home theatre at Pointe Oralndo on International drive over the past three and a half years. It is with saddened hearts that I take this time to write to you all today. As of November 7, 2012, we were informed that Brixmore and Pointe Development Group have chosen to terminate our lease early in order to rent to a larger retail/restaurateur unit. While our lease was designed to last until May 2013 and we were preparing for a move at that point in time, it seems that the parent rental company wants to move forward into the new year with a new tenant in place. With that being said, we must vacate the building by January 6, 2013. With the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, this will make for a really stressful move and relocation.

We are sad to say that because of their window of time, our opportunity to bring you quality theatre is shortly coming to an end for 2012. Our final two performances of Love! Valour! Compassion! To be performed this coming weekend, Saturday November 10 and Sunday, November 11, will be our final performances in our space at The POINTE Performing Arts Center. We hope that you all will come out one last time to see the quality performance you have come to expect over the past three and a half years from our company.

We have already been in search of a newer home prior to this termination, and we will continue in securing a new home for early 2013. Our 2013 Season will be slightly abbreviated but still produced with the same intensity and quality you have come to know and love. We hope that you take this time to support us in our transition, as this is not a goodbye, but a dimming of the lights in one space and bringing light to a new area.

Please come out of the final two performances of Love! Valour! Compassion! (Saturday, November 10 @ 8pm and Sunday, November 11 @ 7pm) support the show, support the actors, support the arts! If you wish to help support us in our efforts to secure a new home, now is also the time for you to make your tax deductible donation. Feel free to contact us:
[email protected], [email protected] or [email protected], if you would like to help.

We look forward to seeing you all out at The POINTE as we dim the lights and say goodbye to this venue and move forward into the future.

All the best,

Christian St. John

Dear Theatre Community,

In the twelve years that I have been involved with FantasyLand Theatrical Productions, I have never had to write a correspondence like this, however in accordance with our transparency by-laws, I am writing to inform you, the people who help move the arts forward in the Orlando area, of some very difficult decisions that I have had to make over the past several days.

We pride ourselves on our performances, our space, and most of all our actors. Giving the community an arts center that they feel that they can call home has been and always will continue to be our greatest mission. As a company, we were very pleased to announce our summer surprise performance was to be Alice Walker's THE COLOR PURPLE, and we were thrilled to be one of the first to perform this beautiful piece of art since its exit from the Broadway stage and national tours. Unfortunately, circumstances have begun to block our path towards success. We have been in music and blocking rehearsals over the past two months preparing for an August 17th opening night. However, due to actor conflicts related to their own outside work duties and daily lives, constraints on time, and a fluctuating availability of actors for our ensemble as well as a lack of sufficient interested actors to support our leads, we have been forced to come to the sad decision of cancelling our Production of THE COLOR PURPLE.

Jason Brame (Musical Director) and I have met multiple times over the past few days to attempt to make all paths towards an August 17th opening night occur; however, with so many roadblocks in our path, we mentally and emotionally have made the decision that cancelling the production would be the best decision for all involved.

While we know there will be some who take this as a moment of failure, we are choosing to look upon this moment as a time to reflect upon the wonderful work and the group of dedicated individuals who worked hard to make it occur. Many of our actors have worked odd hours to make this show fit into their lives; we value each and every one of you. To our parents who have sat through rehearsals with our younger actors, your dedication to your child's future and allowing them the opportunity to flourish in the arts is to be commended. No one is to be faulted with this performance not occurring; now is just not the time for the project to come together. We have faith that we will be able to assemble again at a future date to present this wonderful work of art.

It is with a sad heart that I inform you, our arts family, of this loss at this time. I would like to also take this time to thank publicly all of you have been supportive of this project and to thank the people who spent many hours growing and learning all about the wonderful work that Alice Walker created, our actors and parents.

I know this will not be the last time we see these beautiful people or characters.

In the coming days, I will be announcing a replacement show that will fall into this performance slot. And to be completely open and transparent, I will be casting this show personally from within all of the wonderful actors whom we have seen grace our stage over the past three years while in Orlando. I know some will want to question a complete pre-casting, however at this short notice and late date, I am going to do what is best for our theatre and our company. I hope that you all will continue to love and support our organization as we continue to bring quality theatre to Southwestern Orlando and our neighbors.

While I am saddened to share this news with you, I am able to also share that we will be announcing our 2013 Season in the coming days. I look forward to seeing you all at the theatre.

Artistically Yours,

Christian St. John
