Master classes matter more than many dancers realize.

Even when judges aren’t the ones teaching,
the people in the room still talk, observe, and remember.

Showing up tired, disengaged, or checked out
can leave an impression —
and not the kind dancers want.

Master classes are an opportunity to be seen as focused, invested,
and willing to go above and beyond, even when it’s hard.

That effort communicates professionalism, curiosity,
and readiness to grow.

Those qualities are often remembered long after the class ends.

A lot of dancers skip the boring basics…
but repetition is what creates consistent footwork. 👏

Shuffle drills in every direction today. ✨

Feeling powerful doesn’t always read as powerful.
Awareness bridges that difference.

Notice where blind spots might exist this week.

In yoga they have this position called eagle…
but this looks a lot more like an eagle to me. 🦅😂

I love taking hot yoga to maintain flexibility, reset my focus, and keep my body feeling good outside of dance and teaching.

Movement doesn’t always have to be intense to be valuable.

Learning to receive corrections teaches dancers how to grow from feedback.

One of my favorite tap combinations lately
It feels light, airy, musical… and SO satisfying when it locks in.

Hop hop flap step stomp.
Hop shuffle step, flap step stomp. 👏

Tap isn’t just about speed.
It’s about rhythm, texture, dynamics, and making the steps feel alive.

Also… yes, performance matters even in tap. 😉🎭

If your dancer struggles with looking confident or expressive on stage, my FREE Facials Challenge is linked in bio.

One of the simplest ways to improve stage presence
starts with awareness.

Have your dancer open a video of themselves dancing,
pause it mid-movement,
and notice what their face is doing in that moment.

This isn’t about judging or criticizing.
It’s okay if it feels a little awkward —
you’re catching a real moment in motion.

Awareness is the first step to change.
Once dancers know their default expression,
they have something concrete to work with and improve.

That’s how expression becomes intentional,
not accidental.

What feels intense inside may look different from the outside.
That outside view matters.

Trust perspective as part of growth.

Dance builds teamwork skills through shared goals and group responsibility.

In many spaces, it can feel easier — or safer — to blend in.
To not care too much.
To not stand out.

But growth doesn’t happen in the comfort of “average.”

Being curious, committed, and fully invested
is how dancers build real confidence and skill —
even when it feels uncomfortable at first.

Wanting more doesn’t mean pressure.
It means intention.
It means choosing growth over blending in.

This mindset helps dancers take pride in who they are
and who they’re becoming, both on and off the stage.
