Mi gente!!! Icymi, I work with a nonprofit called The Umbrella Brigade (TUB). We work with different organizations to create community impact and addressing different community needs and we also advocate for bodily autonomy and human rights for different minorities and oppressed groups.

Where I currently live, in Seminole County, FL, there are more than 300+ families that are homeless. Children continue going to school but have no resources or access for school supplies. At TUB, we are doing a backpack drive to make an impact on this need and we hope to get at least 300 backpacks with various school supplies (i.e. paper, pencil, erasers, snacks, etc.).

Wepa mi gente!!! As some of you may know, I'm part of a non-profit group called The Umbrella Brigade, that helps serve marginalized communities (LGBTQNIA+, immigrants, women, homeless, BIPOC, etc.) and a group that's also involved in advocacy. One of our visions is to buy a school bus in order to help us with our work. We want to use this bus to help our group travel to any areas where we are doing our advocacy work as well as community events and even be able to transport goods. This is a HUGE ask, but we know we have a community that wants to help! Any amount will help our vision become reality!!!

This might be the biggest idea we’ve had yet, but trust us- it could be the best one too. This bus will allow us to transport our volunteers all over! It’ll also allow us to transport more goods and supplies! We will be able to host education community meetings, resource days, and so much more!

I had done a 🌈 look during the week and kept forgetting to post it!!! 😭 Better late than never! It may not be Pride month anymore, but it doesn't mean we can't/don't carry that Pride within us the rest of the months!!! And today, as it's 4th of July, don't EVER forget we're ALL part of 'the people' and we deserve the same rights and protections as our neighbors! Happy 4th!
