So I just spent a few years away from family, friends, and people I cared about, focused on figuring some things out that I knew could move the whole needle significantly for my family, my friends, and the people I care about.
I didnât always go about it the right way. Thatâs one of the biggest lessons I learned. Good intentions donât automatically make your approach good.
Even through some of the darker times, I just tried to focus on the good and keep learning. During that time, I talked to teachers and professionals from all kinds of fields, from medicine and law to security, business and music. I listened, studied, asked questions, and tried to understand things from different perspectives.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I became a caretaker too. I went from working in an outside office to building my office at home, making sure I could still work, create, handle my responsibilities, and be present for the people who needed me.
I learned how to build for myself, pursue my passions, serve others, take care of the people who once took care of me, and still remember to take care of myself. I also learned how important it is to put people in positions where they can take care of themselves.
The crazy part is coming back excited like, âYo, I figured this s**t out. I have so much to show yâall.â đ
But everybody isnât always ready to hear it from you because itâs YOU. And thatâs okay.
I wasnât looking for everybody to agree with me. I was looking for the answer. đ
