Jae Jackson, originally from Washington Township, NJ, has been an professional performer/emcee/DJ in the Orlando area since 2011. She has been seen in over 9 shows in daily operations at Walt Disney World, including The Festival of the Lion King, Hoop Dee Doo R***e and Disney’s newest immersive experience Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. Jae also just made her SAG actor debut on the Disney Channel special ‘Summer Quest.’ She would like to thank Mandi Jo Szendrei for this amazing opportunity to live out real dream of hers.

Meet our Simon Basset: The Duke of Hastings!

Arius West graduated from the University of Central Florida with his bachelor’s in Theatre, Education, & Stage Combat. He is a performer, teaching artist, and director around the greater Central Florida area. He has worked on productions and projects at The Orlando REP, The Renaissance Theatre Company, CFC Arts, ArtReach Orlando, Michelee Puppets, SeaWorld & Disney, and now The Dr. Phillips Center with students K-12 and adults up to 65+.
In addition, Arius is a Co-Founder of MAC Boys Entertainment whose main prerogative is to increase black talent on stage and black people in the audience, and to entertain the community with stories FOR us BY us because we are more than our pain and trauma. In the near future, the company will help tell all BIPOC stories.
Some of his most notable works are An Octoroon as the lead role of BJJ/George/M’Closky, Lenox Ave as a Principal Performer & Collaborator, Aida as the Choreographer, Theatre Explorers as a Lead Teaching Artist, and The Colored Museum as a Director.

Meet our Daphne Bridgerton / Duchess of Hastings!

Linsey Duca, Soprano, is a recent graduate from The University of Colorado Boulder, where she received her Master's degree in Vocal Performance. She is a Florida native and completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Central Florida. An avid lover of all things music, she has performed in both opera and musical theater throughout her life, where she has been praised for “having an amazing voice and an authenticity often lacking in theater characterizations”. Most recent credits include Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Lucie Mannette in A Tale of Two Cities, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and Michael Ching’s Buoso’s Ghost, among others.

Meet our Penelope Featherington!

Beth Hall is a Florida native who teaches with Central Florida Community Arts and sings with Central Florida vocal Arts vocal ensemble, Belles and Bows. She also has frequented the stage as Madame Defarge in Tale of Two Cities, The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamboat and most recently a Wickersham Brother in Seussical, among MANY other shows. She is honored to be playing such an iconic character as Penelope Featherington.

The recommended attire for La Maschera: The Bridgerton Ball is Modern Regency. Much like the tv show’s costume design team, we encourage our guests to take creative liberties with their costumes. If you want to channel your inner Daphne, come in a traditional regency gown. Do you want to be a modern fashionista? Feel free to break barriers and mix femme and masc design concepts. You can even wear a modern evening gown, but accessorize with some gloves and a tiara! Regardless of what you wear, Queen Charlotte will be paying close attention to decide her Diamond of the Season!

Dearest Reader,

You are cordially invited to support the most anticipated event of the season, La Maschera: The Bridgerton Ball!

La Maschera is the Downtown Arts District’s largest annual fundraiser which serves as a celebration of the arts and artists in downtown Orlando. In its 16th year, the theme is based on the popular Netflix drama Bridgerton. Guests will enjoy a modernized, Regency-era celebration by arriving in costume and entering the world of Bridgerton at CityArts. Each gallery will have a theme based on locations in the show and will house immersive experiences. The evening’s festivities will include live music by Violectric, dancing, interactive character entertainment, photo opportunities, specialized cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and more!

In honor of , we are proud to feature the artwork of Raysa Molina Art Studio as part of our “Celebrating Through Art” program, which is curated in cooperation with the Downtown Arts District Orlando. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Molina brings peace, balance and harmony to her paintings through a unique sense of contrast, rhythm and movement using shapes and color.

At CityArts, they're featuring an all female artist exhibit titled, Mel’s Bad Girls Club as well as live musical performances by Swamburgers. Bazaar Botanica will be at our CityArts courtyard and the Orange County Regional History Center will remain open offering free admission from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

15 Ukrainian artists have come together to create the exhibition "Ukrainian Artists Defending Freedom." 🙏 It takes place at CityArts Orlando and will remain open until May 15.

We all want to live in a world where peace prevails, and this exhibition is an excellent opportunity to do your bit, as all proceeds will go to Nova Ukraine. 👉 This organization does humanitarian work in Ukraine.

Members of our staff and Board of Directors were able to accompany the organizers and artists at the opening of this exhibition and learn a little more about Ukrainian culture. We want to thank and congratulate United Arts Central Florida and Downtown Arts District Orlando for this beautiful initiative.

15 artistas ucranianos se han unido para crear la exhibición "Ukrainian Artists Defending Freedom". 🙏 Se realiza en CityArts Orlando y que se mantendrá abierto hasta el 15 de mayo.

Todos queremos vivir en un mundo en el que prevalezca la paz, y esta exposición es una gran oportunidad para poner tu granito de arena, ya que todo lo recaudado se destinará a Nova Ukraine, una organización que realiza labores humanitarias en Ucrania. 👈

Miembros de nuestro staff y de la Junta Directiva pudimos acompañar a los organizadores y a los artistas en la apertura de esta exhibición, y conocer un poco más de la cultura ucraniana. Queremos agradecer y felicitar a United Arts Central Florida and Downtown Arts District Orlando por esta hermosa iniciativa.

Our Acts of Love and Kindness Kick Off was beautiful! Thank you to Valley Bank for sponsoring this event! In partnership with City of Orlando - Government, Downtown Arts District Orlando, and Keep Orlando Beautiful we unveiled one of the 24 tables painted for Bringing Kindness to the Table and cleaned Langford Park and Dickson Azalea Park.
