Last year in Vegas we produced a LARP experience called “21 Grams or Bust”, where players got to explore a haunted hotel through roleplay and escape room style physical puzzles. We’ll be running it 2 more times at darkness emergent with by night studios over Memorial Day weekend!

Our blog post today is the newly updated rules handout that we give to people before a playtest game. We'll be taking Anesidora to Proto ATL in 2 weeks to run playtest and introduce new people to the game!

Anesidora is played through Scenes, which each contain one or more Rounds. At the beginning of each Round, the Chaos Deck is shuffled to determine the order of activation. Each player has their own card in the deck, along with individual or groups of NPCs, and Events. Enemies do not go into the Chao

Anesidora is a new tabletop RPG setting and rule system. Players take on the role of Heroes on a dangerous alien world. On Anesidora, people worship the synthetic intelligences of crashed ancient spaceships that believe they are mythic gods. Advanced technology is treated as magic. Humans and animals have been changed into strange new things and dangerous remnants of the past lurk in tombs of concrete and metal.

The Heroes of this world must overcome their fate with 2 new systems. First a Hero’s Skill and training is represented by a Dice Pool with symbols that represent their ability to succeed and the influence of the fates. Second, instead of Classes, Heroes pick from Traits that give abilities and resources outside the scope of their Skills. Traits range from powerful mutations and magical artifacts, to relationships with influential Allies and Companions who travel with the Heroes and act as a second Player Character.
