We are beyond proud of former Orlando Family Stage student and apprentice, Tyler Price!

“I was watching ‘Henry Danger’ or something,” he recalls, “and was like, ‘How do I do that?'”

The answer came through a summer program Orlando Family Stage — then known as Orlando Repertory Theatre — was running at the Rosen Jewish Community Center in south Orlando. At age 9, Price got a part in a production of “Madagascar Jr.,” based on the animal-centric animated film.

“I was a penguin, a hyena, it was so much fun,” he says. “That was the bug. It bit me.”

And now, that same kid is headed to The Juilliard School to pursue his BFA in Acting.

We never know which child walking through our doors today might discover something that changes the course of their life tomorrow! Sometimes, it starts with a stage.

Congratulations, Tyler. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

*Story by Matt Palm, Orlando Sentinel.

Tyler Price of Windermere was one of the few — make that very few — accepted into Juilliard’s drama division this year.

This fall, homeschool students in 3rd–8th grade can step into the mysterious world of Dr. Facilier and get hands-on with puppetry, musical theater, character creation, and theatrical illusion!

Students will build their own puppets, create scenic elements, learn choreography, and bring a musical number to life, all while making friends and trying something totally new.

For 100 years, Orlando Family Stage has been the place where imaginations take the stage and futures begin. This back-to-school season, we invite you to support our No Empty Seat program to underwrite school field trips and provide free tickets for children and families who otherwise could not attend.

By giving today, you help remove a barrier too many under‑resourced students face: the cost of a ticket. A gift of $25 helps one child experience live theatre, maybe for the first time.

Donate today and be a part of Orlando Family Stage’s next 100 years, where every child has a seat!

As a new school year begins, every child deserves a seat. 💜

Today kicks off our Back-to-School No Empty Seat campaign!

We’re working to fill 5,000 seats this school year so more children in our community can experience the creativity, confidence, and connection that come from live theatre.

Here’s how you can help:

🎟️ $25 opens the curtain for one child
🎟️ $100 helps a family experience live theatre
🎟️ $500 helps bring a classroom to the theatre

Every gift helps make sure a child has a seat waiting for them.

🍌 HOMESCHOOL CLASS SPOTLIGHT: MAYHEM INCOMING! 👹

The Minions are making a monster movie… what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!

In Minions, Monsters, and Mayhem, things get a little out of control when outrageous monsters are accidentally unleashed and we need some creative kids to help wrangle the chaos!

Along the way, students will create their own characters, build puppets, play theatre games, tell stories, and, most importantly, go completely B-A-N-A-N-A-S. 🍌🎭

Perfect for homeschool students in 1st & 2nd grade who love making things, making up stories, being silly, and letting their imaginations run wild.
