Long before craft beer entered the mainstream, The Milk District has been home to bars and restaurants that really get it. The appreciation for the craft continues to this day as District has become on of America’s great beer neighborhoods.

The love of early 20th century American roots music is very apparent with Oak Hill Drifters, who will play on the @badass_sandwich stage at Rockin Robinson this Saturday. Their music and performance echos the 1940's - 1960's paying homage to some of the great pioneers of that early American roots music.
For the first time the festival will be free to the community. Come out and rock on from 4-10 PM.
This time next week -- Rockin' Robinson will return, this year as a FREE community music festival.
The Walking Collective is very versatile, with music that stems from deep funk, hip hop, and soul. The drummer jamesalexadkins leads the band from the drums with a wild and eccentric personality. Catch them on the @badass_sandwich stage at the fest!
The Milk District Awaits! Love the nods that Orlando Milkhouse Eatery & Cocktails and Se7enbites get in this rundown of amazing food in Central Florida!

We just hit this milestone and wanted to thank everyone here for literally making room on your daily feed to learn about, celebrate, and support the independent businesses that we highlight in The Milk District as well as our events and initiatives that seek to help them thrive!
The work we do building community and local self-reliance while preserving historic assets is serious stuff, but we have a heck of a lot of fun doing it, and want to thank everyone who’s along for the ride.
Leisure Chief is an original collective, dedicated to crafting vibrations for the mind and the booty. Influenced by funk, soul, R&B, and jazz fusion, the band weaves lyrical and instrumental music, grooving for the enjoyment of all. The sound is dynamic, featuring high-energy moments that make you bounce, as well as imaginative contrasts of soundscapes through the spectrum of human emotion.

@oklahomastackhouse's style has been dubbed "Southern Tropical Rock", combining elements of ska, rock, reggae, blues, jazz and funk.
A collective of eight good friends who get together to play music all over the Sunshine State and beyond, the group began as a no-frills guitar and drums duo who got together to play local shows. Since then, the group has expanded to its current iteration, featuring a full horn section and a vast array of genre bending jams.
Catch them on the @badass_sandwich stage during Rockin' Robinson on May 7!
Future Joy are Emily Cooper, vocals, DJ, production, dancing; and Zachary David Simms, saxophones, vocals, dancing. They cover the entire gamut from lofi downtempo grooves to exuberant all-out dance music. The key, however, is joy, because Emily and Zach bring joy to the stage every time they perform.
Catch them lighting up the Commissioner 7Sheehan Stage at Rockin' Robinson, May 7!

@everywhichwayband is an Orlando-based band whose musical variety is quite literally their namesake. They play everything from classic R&B and Rock to modern Hip-hop and Punk, and are guaranteed to make you want to jump on the dance floor and sing along. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist and MC Angelika Fumero, the band features a tour de force of Orlando musicians including Pascal Sacleux on guitar, Dave Merkli on bass, Jesse Clark on drums, Ryan Goldwyn on keyboards, and Jim Beaux on horns.

Plans are without funding are just ideas.
In 2018, The City of Orlando and HDR completed a bike/ped study of The Milk District with many suggestions, including a re-visioning of South Street through the commercial district to add more parking in a more consistent fashion, a 10-foot wide path for cycling and walking that would connect to wider trail system, and additional safety improvements for all users.
But the project hasn't been funded. In fact, none of the recommendations in The Milk District that came out of that study have been completed.
This afternoon, a group of intrepid cyclists with @OrlandoBikes met up at @EasyLuckOrl, right in the middle of that segment of South Street to advocate at an Orange County hearing for a new funding stream that would help unfunded projects be completed, as well as improving connectivity and access across the region for all Central Florida residents.
Want to know how you can help? Follow @OrlandoBikes to stay up to date on advocacy projects, public meetings, and fun meetups with other like-minded citizens.
