Art is all about trying and having fun 💙🩵

09/15/2026

Lazy Susans and wooden trays are some of our best-selling projects, but they’re also some of the most labor-intensive behind the scenes. Our team spends hours prepping them before a guest ever paints one, and even more time finishing them afterward.

I don’t mind paying for labor. What I do mind is having talented people spend hours doing something that better materials, tools or machines can do for us.

Does the new wood cost more? Absolutely. But it also gives our team something much more valuable back: time.

Time they can spend improving the guest experience. Testing new ideas. Creating new projects. Finding better ways to do what we do.

I want my team busy. But busy doing things that actually matter.

I’d rather pay more for the wood than pay my team to sit there for hours taping it.

I don’t think Mami gets nearly enough recognition for what she does for us.

Yes, she’s Aliana’s mom and my mother-in-law. But she’s also our Head Resiner, and what she does goes FAR beyond what her job asks of her.

Once a guest finishes creating their artwork, it goes into Mami’s hands. And I can confidently tell you, there are no safer or more loving hands in this entire studio.

She handles every piece like it belongs to her.

And I want you to understand the weight of that.

Resin has a pot life. Once it’s mixed, the clock starts. Things can go wrong. A piece may not cure properly. Something unexpected can happen. Sometimes a second or even third coat is needed.

Yet Mami maintains a 99.9% success rate.

That number means A LOT to us.

It means we’re not wasting materials in a business where every dollar matters. It means we’re not calling guests asking for more time. It means when we tell you your artwork will be ready, it’s ready.

That promise might come from Abstract Orlando, but behind the scenes, Mami is the one keeping it.

She doesn’t get the applause. Most guests may never even meet her. But without her, this business simply would not operate at the level it does.

She is one of the backbones of this studio, and she deserves to be seen.

Thank you, Mami. For caring about our guests’ artwork like it’s your own. For caring about this business like it’s your own. And for constantly giving this family and this team more than we could ever ask of you.

We are ALL grateful you’re here.

Dirty pours are fun… but have you ever spun one in the air?

Never tried it before, so I figured why not try it for the first time on a 5-foot painting.

Completely different experience. Full video coming soon.

COMMENT “PAINT” TO ENTER 🎨

I’m choosing 3 people to come paint a giant canvas with me at Abstract Orlando!!

And not tiny little canvases either lol I’m talking oversized statement artwork that becomes the kind of piece people walk into your home and immediately ask about.

Each winner will get a 1-on-1 fluid art experience with me where I’ll guide you through creating your own one-of-a-kind statement piece in studio.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is watching people realize they’re actually capable of creating something beautiful — especially the people who swear they’re “not artistic” 😭

You were never bad at art.
You were just taught to fear being bad at it.

Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, creativity became something people thought they had to “earn.”
But every single day we watch guests walk into our studio saying:

“I’m not creative.”
“I can’t do this.”
“I’ve never painted before.”

…and then leave proud of something they made with their own hands. 🎨

That’s the magic.
Not perfection. Permission.

Permission to try.
Permission to play.
Permission to make something just because it feels good.

No experience needed. No talent required. Just you and the paint ✨
