We played. We connected. And we explored some brilliant new attractions and technologies at IAAPA 2025 to weave into our experience design projects. Nostalgia was on full display: human ball pits, flying swings, gamified dunk tanks and a vortex tunnel straight from a haunted fun house. And don’t even get us started on the massive Ozzie Osbourne selfie magnet.

It’s IAAPA time! Always thrilled to shoutout one of our favorite clients, we hope to see you all there! ...

Did you know that aerospace engineers take inspiration from nature when designing aircraft? It’s called biomimicry, and our friends at Flight Works Alabama know all about it. In fact, we helped them make a whole biomimicry exhibit! You might have made the connection between birds and planes, but did you know sharks were an inspiration too? What animals do you think might inspire engineering innovations?

Take a look at what’s going on behind the scenes at IDEAS with some renderings for Space Base California, the exciting new educational and entertainment destination we’re working on with Pale Blue Dot Ventures in Lompoc, California. Space Base will offer visitors an important role to play through exciting “off-world” daytrip for guests, immersive role-playing challenges for students on field trips, and extended multi-day overnight missions that put survival and sustainability in space to the test. Explore more Space Base over on our website!

The best rated exhibits are not always the ones with the flashiest tech but those that make visitors curious and let them see themselves in the story of flight, space, exploration and engineering magic. The audience’s emotional response is what it’s all about. Think about the last time you went to a museum, theme park, or science center. Do you remember everything you saw, or do you remember how those things you saw made you feel?

This month at IDEAS we focused on aerospace. Even in early myths people were building flying machines. You may have heard the myth of Daedalus, the architect who built wings to escape his prison in King Minos’ labyrinth, and his son Icarus who flew too close to the sun and melted the wax in his wings. There’s a part of us that longs to take flight, a yearning to explore the sky that is just beyond our reach. We may not have figured out how to fly on feathered wings quite yet, but nowadays that dream of flight is becoming less and less of a fantasy as we head further into the stars. What are some of your favorite stories about flight?

Ever wonder what a trip to mars has in common with The Big Game? Our Future Flight project featured both! Combining virtual reality and drop tower technology, Future Flight was a brand activation project like no other that took riders on a journey to the red planet and dropped them right on the 50-yard line at just before kickoff!
