We provide a variety of sign language and interpreting services for theaters, actors, and shows. In addition to providing contracted services to local theaters, we also volunteer with Florida Hands & Voices. Through this non-profit organization for deaf children and their families, we shadow interpret all of the TYA productions at The Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Our past productions include:

It’s Friday and we are excited for a weekend at Orlando Fringe full of ASL interpreted shows!!
Bringing the kids to Fringe? Here is our Kids Fringe line up:
SATURDAY at 11:30 AM: Drums & Drag with Gidget Galore and Caravan Learning for some drumming, singing, dancing, and story time!
SUNDAY at 10:30 AM: Purple People Storytime with Joyce and Mandy for a fun story and conversation about why the world needs more purple people.

MEET OUR TEAM
Jessica Montoya has been learning American Sign Language for 10 years. During this time she has made so many friends in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing communities where she was motivated to pursue American Sign Language Interpreting as a career. She was accepted into the Interpreter Training Program at the University of South Florida where she successfully graduated and began her interpreting career shortly afterwards. Jessica's main work is Video Relay Interpreting for our Deaf community and she specializes in a range of community interpreting jobs as well. Jessica also has a background in dance and theatre which has awarded her to achieve work on a variety of cruise lines interpreting on board for all shows and other on call services. She has now begun her journey with Signing Shadows in Orlando Florida.

MEET OUR TEAM
Sydney Dixon is a Junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Exceptional Student Education. Sydney has loved theater since the age of 6 when she started acting with Magic Curtain Productions and as an adult became the Director of their Little Ones Theater for two years. Sydney also participated in Timber Creek High School musicals for four years, which is also where she first fell in love with sign language. Sydney has been in two productions with Signing Shadows, and this is her second year signing at the Fringe Festival.

Alana Wagner fell in love with American Sign Language over two decades ago when she took her first ASL class at Valencia College. Her love for the language, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and interpreting has never stopped growing. She has been an educational interpreter since the beginning of her career and has a passion for theatrical interpreting. She is excited to be performing again with Signing Shadows.

MEET OUR TEAM
Judith Britt began her interpreting career in 1986. After graduating with a BA in Theatre and Dance from Antioch College, she moved to Seattle and began taking ASL classes at Seattle Central Community College. Although she has lived all over the US, Orlando has been her home for the past 18 years. Judith has interpreted for a variety of theatres, including Mad Cow, The Garden Theatre, Signing Shadows, and Universal Studios. It is a great pleasure and honor to be interpreting for the Fringe Festival.

We have a new ASL interpreted show added to the line up at Orlando Fringe!! Join us tomorrow night at 9:30 PM for ARDEN, from In The Wings Productions. Arden is an all-new jukebox musical set in a magical forest where the stories of William Shakespeare collide in an explosion of color and song. Starring RuPaul’s Drag Race star Ginger Minj, join fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the lovers from As You Like It, and the witches from Macbeth on a musical romp through the Forest of Arden set to mashups of iconic pop songs from the 70s and 80s.

MEET OUR TEAM
Kenneth Ramirez became interested in ASL after taking a ASL class at his local community college in Orlando, Florida and eventually earned his AA in ASL/ English Interpretation and later moved on to receive a bachelor's degree in Clinical psychology and in Neuroscience Psychology from University of Central Florida in 2019. Kenneth is currently working as a freelance interpreter in a variety of fields such as performance, medical and VRS interpreting and is currently working in becoming nationally certified.

TONIGHT at 8PM on the outdoor stage: “Conversations with the Community” a panel discussion on creating inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in the entertainment community of central Florida. Our very own Mandy Longo will be on the panel!
