It is with profound sadness that This Is Jamaica mourns the passing of our beloved Ambassador, Dervan Malcolm, a distinguished broadcaster, cultural advocate, and proud son of Jamaica.
Dervan was a familiar and trusted voice through his work with the RJR Group, where his professionalism, warmth, and commitment to Jamaican stories touched countless lives. Through broadcasting, he helped inform, connect, and celebrate the Jamaican people at home and across the diaspora.
As an Ambassador of This Is Jamaica, Dervan embraced our mission of celebrating Jamaica’s rich culture, heritage, talent, and the limitless potential of our children. He understood the power of our stories and the importance of giving the next generation a voice.
His contribution to our organization went beyond a title. He was a true ambassador in every sense of the word. His presence, encouragement, and belief in the Jamaican spirit will remain a cherished part of our journey.
Today, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his distinguished career.
Dervan Malcolm may have left this earthly stage, but his voice, his legacy, and his love for Jamaica will never be silenced.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
