What a way to kick off a new season of Florida Road Trip! 🌴🚗 We loved seeing so many familiar faces (and meeting plenty of new ones!) at The Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach on Sunday. Our first stop of the 2026 season is the charming Central Florida town beloved by locals and visitors alike: Mount Dora.

Time for a throwback... ⏰ In September 2017, PBS aired the 10-part, 18-hour Ken Burns documentary, The Vietnam War. As part of local engagement efforts, WUCF partnered with the Orange County Regional History Center to host an exhibit highlighting the wars impact on Central Florida. It was full of items and stories from Orlando’s Vietnamese community, most of whom were relocated here during the war.

Clifford the Big Red Dog is coming to WUCF, and he’s bringing a big goal with him: 6,000 books for young readers across Central Florida! ❤️

Join us Oct. 3 for WUCF’s free PBS KIDS Book Bash, where families can enjoy story times, meet Clifford and get an early start on the annual Preschool Book Drive by bringing a new or gently used children’s book to donate.

Then, from Nov. 1-30, you can donate at WUCF, VyStar Credit Union branches and participating independent bookstores throughout Central Florida. Monetary donations will also be accepted online.

Last year, our community donated 5,800 books to support Head Start programs across nine Central Florida counties. Let’s see if we can reach 6,000 this year!
