The procession starts at CityArts at 6:00pm - bring something to remind you of your loved ones for the parade. The Mariachi band will play us along.
The stage show starts at 6:30 and ends at 11:00

Just a reminder that our Dia de los Mu***os and Monster art exhibitions are coming up on Thursday October 20. If you haven't submitted your pieces please do so soon as this exhibit tends to get filled up quickly.
We still have a few spots open for vendors for the street party portion of the event. 10 x 10 tents go for $50 and 6 foot tables are $25.

La Maschera is the Downtown Arts District’s largest annual fundraiser which serves as a celebration of the arts and artists in downtown Orlando. In its 16th year, the theme is based on the popular Netflix drama Bridgerton. Guests will enjoy a modernized, Regency-era celebration by arriving in costume and entering the world of Bridgerton at CityArts. Each gallery will have a theme based on locations in the show and will house immersive experiences. The evening’s festivities will include live music by Violectric, dancing, interactive character entertainment, photo opportunities, specialized cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and more!

Even with the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, DAD served 851 artists, installed 86 exhibitions, hung 2,717 works of art, generated $82,599 in art sales, and executed 158 events in 2021. Based on trends already showing in 2022, all three of these numbers are anticipated to increase by 2023.

Artist Talk with Mary Bel Mary Bel, is a fine art photographer from Orlando, Florida who uses herself as the subject matter in her images. She produces composites and crafts bold, emotional, gripping, edgy and ambiguous images. She finds beauty in darkness and has a great admiration for art and expressionism. Mary Bel is greatly inspired by the baroque paintings of Michelangelo Caravaggio and surrealist painters like Rene Margritte, Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso. She creates self portraits that look painterly to depict various stories of emotions and concepts of self expression, layered with her own personal growth. Her vivid imagination has evolved, by being an observer of her environment. Mary states, "I create images of what I wish, or imagine happening, and manipulate it into my own world through my work as a photographer and story teller. In turn, I like to show my process, as a way to inspire others" Mary Bel is a graduate Fordham University in NYC where she holds a Bachelors and Masters degree. As a single mother of a teenage son and daughter, she stays very occupied while working a full time job at Darden Restaurants headquarters.
