So why does this matter? What difference does it make if maintains its position as the number one tourist destination in the country? Did you know that tourism is one of the reasons your favorite arts organizations and events exist? You’ve probably heard of the Tourist Development Tax. It’s a 6% tax applied to hotel stays. And the leadership at remains committed to investing a portion of those funds in art and culture. That expands what Central Florida is known for the world over. And it gives us residents world class art and culture to enjoy all year long. It also ensures our theaters and performances venues exist and are maintained. is one of hundreds of experiences that simply wouldn’t exist without TDT funding. And because of TDT, IMMERSE, presented by , was able to pay out more than $1million to creative professionals in 2026. Thanks to the ongoing work of in helping us shape our city as “Creative City, USA.”
