A week until Arts on Douglas Colors of Serenity Opening Reception: and I’m taking a full day away from the studio. I need to give a big shout out to Flamingo Custom Framing, Hanging / Art Sales and Restoration ServicesFlamingo who helped me load a truck full of custom frames for my paintings. The skies have been rough on us in this part of the world the last 24 hours. It reminds us the beauty of a perfect sunset could just as easily show up as a storm that can rock our existence.
I started this piece when we were waiting for Hurricane Helene and finished it in the aftermath. It represents both the majesty and the raw power of nature.

Here are just 6 of the 19 8”x10” oil paintings I’m contributing to Saturday’s McRae Art Studios Annual 8x10 Show. The proceeds help fulfill our mission of providing affordable studio space to Central Florida artists.
Mc Rae has been a constant part of the arts scene here for over 36 years and we like to show our appreciation by offering affordable original art each year at our 8x10.

This 40x40 is passing back through the studio after a year or two absence. It’s funny how my perceptions shifted from what I considered a mediocre painting at creation to one I wish I could now keep.
Maybe its visit was to remind me quiet and simple pieces are the best ones.

Our group studio’s annual fundraiser is coming around on August 10th. Yep, it’s our 8x10 sale on 8-10. Our goal is 200 unique pieces of art all capped at $200. So far I have 5 complete and my goal is to double that. Here is this week’s effort - a humble barn, oil on canvas.
