All of our graduating seniors were recipients of the Michael Simpson Musician of Excellence Scholarship, funded by the Winnifred Johnson Clive Foundation 🎻 The scholarship recognizes their dedication to honing their musical skills through the A Gift for Music programs. We are excited to see what they accomplish next!

Auditions for Saturday Strings are *this Saturday, August 29*

Check out our Saturday Strings ensembles below 🎶

Prelude Strings is for beginning violin students and focuses on technique development and basic musicianship.

Alley Oop! Strings serves as an assist to prepare students whose ability level places them in between Prelude and Etude Strings. Alley Oop! will help these students build the confidence and skillset needed to make the leap into our upper-level ensembles.

Etude Strings explores more in-depth string instrument techniques. Students may also switch from violin to viola, cello, or even double bass in Etude Strings.

Concert Strings stretches the skills of middle school and early high school students. Students develop their ability to make musical decisions and refine more advanced string techniques.

Camerata Strings (formerly known as Chamber Strings) performs original works for string orchestra that challenge students to perform expressively, form educated musical guesses, and make creative musical decisions.

Happy Birthday, Claude Debussy 🎂🎶

Today we celebrate French composer Claude Debussy (1862–1918), an influential composer who pioneered musical impressionism.

🌙 Did you know? Debussy’s beloved Clair de Lune translates to “Moonlight” in French. The piece's gentle harmonies and dreamlike character evoke a feeling of serenity, mystery, and reflection—making it one of Debussy’s most recognizable works.

Today, we celebrate Debussy’s legacy and the countless ways his music continues to inspire musicians and listeners around the world 🎻

A Gift for Music is looking for music instructors to lead our after-school group violin classes.

A Gift for Music was founded on the idea that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic status, should have access to the life-changing benefits of a quality music education. Founded in 1999, A Gift for Music is A Gift for Teaching’s flagship arts education program designed to provide students with musical enrichment, practice, and performance. Since its inception, A Gift for Music has worked with more than 11,000 students throughout Central Florida, teaching them how to play string instruments and transforming them into dedicated, lifelong musicians.
