Tomorrow! Play Dates are back back back back back again! Join us for free gathering, reading and creativity :)

Monday, November 18th, 7PM-9PM
Reading/Workshopping "The Council" @ College Park Gallery (2300 Edgewater Dr.)
Come read this hour-long play as a group and then brainstorm the production of our collective dreams! Through a creative and powerful fable of animals, men, water and fire, Native American playwright William S Yellow Robe Jr. (Assiniboine) tells the story about how Man was able to evolve with the help of the nations of animals that lived in harmony with one another. However, as Man and his nation grow, their harmony with animals quickly diminishes.
You can RSVP by messaging me or emailing [email protected]
(but RSVPs aren't necessary if you want to pop in!)

I know it’s been a long time but…it feels like time to bring back free community opportunities
like “Play Date”. So welcome back to the play place!
(actually had these planned way before the election but feel even more ready for them now honestly)

We have a reading/workshop of a beautiful fantastical one-act play in a little over a week and after that a new innovative storytelling workshop that’s…kinda an adult game of telephone.
No RSVP necessary (although you can RSVP by emailing [email protected] and that does help us know numbers)

Play Date is a free weekly artistic club where anyone can meet and create collaborative work. No commitment, no dues, no selling, just gathering and creating.
I know after these last few days, a lot of us are feeling dread, anxiety, rage and disappointment. As we move forward into the future, something that really matters is continuing to create bonds, find joy, and show up for each other to build a better future. I’m not saying that “Play Dates” and free workshops are going to save the world. But maybe they can give you that boost to re-engage with the world. If you do feel like this is the right way for you to start engaging with the world again, I hope to see you there.

Unfortunately, we have made the tough but necessary decision to cancel this weekend’s production of The Turn of the Screw. We ask that you please give everyone on the team of this show space after this difficult decision. This was a tremendous company of artists putting this show together and we are all heartbroken that the journey has to end this way…but we are sure there will be other journeys in the future. If you’ve already purchased tickets, look out for communication from Timucua Arts Foundation about next steps. Look out for more events and shows in the future!
