HINT no.2 for Name That Tune Music Trivia (Oct 2026)

We all know “Footloose” from the 1980s movie “Footloose”, but do you remember the one-hit-wonder from Deniece Williams? “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” was released in 1984 as the second major hit from the movie’s soundtrack. The recording for this song was under a tight deadline, replacing a different song in the dance lesson montage, & only took a single late-night session to record! HINTS for September’s Saturday Night Trivia

Last month we lost two of the world's best talents, Dolly Parton & Tim Curry. We knew them for their amazing charisma, humor, and good looks, but let’s learn a little about who they were as people. Dolly Parton was the fourth of 12 children raised in Appalachia. Her family was often struggling, and it was said they paid the doctor with a sack of cornmeal when Dolly was born. Coming from humble beginnings is what made Dolly such a wonderful celebrity. Using her earned status for good, she founded the Dollywood Foundation to inspire kids to stay in school and the Imagination Library which mails free books to millions of children worldwide. As for Tim Curry, not much is known of his private life. Said to be a quiet man off-screen, he often stayed to himself in social situations and eloquently refused to answer questions about his love life. Before entering into the life of voice acting and screen, Tim was also a rock star! He released three albums from the late 70s into the 80s featuring rock covers of some of his favorite songs & originals written by Tim himself. After suffering a major stroke in 2012, he transitioned primarily into voice acting and made selective appearances, maintaining his sharp wit and trademark sense of humor. A quiet man behind doors, transforming into the boisterous, ridiculous man we all knew and loved on screen was a talent we will miss. Thank you Dolly & Tim for being in our lives and giving us such wonderful memories. You both will be missed.

Name That Tune Music Trivia HINTS for June 2026!

The Mamas & The Papas were a defining 1960s folk-rock vocal group composed of John Phillips, Michelle Phillips, Mama Cass Elliot, and Denny Doherty. Known for tight vocal harmonies and the classic "California Sound," they produced hits like "California Dreamin'" & "Monday, Monday" before internal romantic turmoil, substance abuse, and breakups ended their core run in 1968.
