A POSITIVE YOUTH EMPLOYED BY CHON SAN!
At just 23 years old, Isaiah Wilson of Belmopan has already built a reputation for something many people struggle to master, genuine customer service.
Wilson, who works as a waiter at Chon San Palace in Belmopan, says serving people comes naturally to him.
“Everybody love me,” he said confidently.
Although he admits he was never the most talkative person growing up, he gradually developed his communication skills through constant interaction with people.
“People always say I don’t smile,” Wilson shared with a laugh. “But I learned how to smile.”
What he enjoys most about his job is making sure customers are happy and satisfied.
“The service part, cleaning, making sure everything is in order,” he explained. “I like to know what you want to the point that I know what to get you by the time you enter.”
For Wilson, serving others is more than just a paycheck.
“I like to serve,” he said.
His journey has not been an easy one.
Wilson lost his father when he was just two years old, leaving his mother to raise the family through difficult circumstances.
“It was hard for me,” he admitted.
He recalled growing up without many basic necessities.
“Everything we never got,” Wilson said. “From a table to do homework on, to a ruler to write straight.”
Despite those struggles, he remained determined to build himself into a hardworking and dependable young man.
Before entering the hospitality field, Wilson spent four to five years as a volunteer firefighter, dedicating his time to helping others in moments of crisis.
Today, he says one of his biggest motivations is his older brother, whom he describes as extremely supportive and encouraging throughout his life.
“My biggest motivation is my older brother,” Wilson said. “He is very encouraging.”
