I wasn't trying to photograph anything unusual. I was just walking through the mangroves when my phone accidentally snapped a picture through the roots.
Hours later, while clearing out my camera roll, I noticed something moving in the water.
At first glance, it looked like a seal...
Then I zoomed in.
It had the body of a marine animal, but the upper half looked disturbingly human. It was gliding silently through the shallow water, facing away as if it had no idea anyone was watching.
The image is heavily zoomed, grainy, and full of compression artifacts, but that's exactly why I can't convince myself it's just editing.
π€ What do you think I captured?
π¬ A rare marine species? A trick of light? Or something the ocean has kept hidden for centuries?
