the “Tatreez Quilt” print: 35 motifs, 3 colorways.
each square pulls from the visual language of Palestinian tatreez across villages: birds, cypress trees, eight-pointed stars, florals, and geometric borders, each with its own place in our embroidery tradition. I sourced many of the motifs from my own family’s villages.
arranged as a patchwork, hand-painted to capture the organic nature of tatreez, and available in indigo, earth, and berry. pulled these motifs from nabil anani & sliman mansour’s seminal “Guide to Palestinian Embroidery”.
