3x markup from the wholesale price for flowers is a ✨minimum✨ industry standard across the board, 4x markup is ideal. Any floral professional will tell you this. That is how we make a profit and are able to do the beautiful work that we do! It covers all of the costs I’ve mentioned in parts 1-3, gives you a safety net in case something goes wrong (we are dealing with perishables here!), and fairly pays your florist for their artistry. If you are a customer and are paying less than that for your wedding flowers- for nice wedding flowers -your florist is not getting paid. I don’t think anyone expects free labor for something so detailed and important as your wedding flowers!

My biggest advice for brides and grooms looking for a wedding florist is to first figure out what style/vibe you’re wanting for your flowers, then find a floral designer who matches the look you’re going for. Find your people! If you have a vendor you know and trust, ask them who they know. Don’t look for someone cheap...if flowers are a priority for you, find an artist you can trust to make your wedding as amazing and unique as you are. You will get what you pay for!
