📣 Meet the newest member of the SCERA Family!

Rachael Lundberg is so excited to be joining SCERA as our Administrative Assistant! Theatre has become a huge part of her life, both on and off the stage, and she is "stoked" to have the opportunity to turn her passion into a career.

When she’s not chasing her three boys around, Rachael loves camping and spending time outdoors with her husband of 14 years. She enjoys playing board games and isn’t competitive at all. (wink, wink 😉)

After spending 15 years behind the chair as a hairstylist, she’s also bringing her creativity and experience to SCERA as a Hair & Makeup Designer.

We’re so excited to have Rachael on our team and can’t wait to see all the talent and energy she brings to SCERA. Welcome, Rachael!

👏 Thank you Grammy and Tony Award-winning Broadway, recording and television star Heather Headley... Enough adjectives do not exist to explain what it was like to see and hear her live... and she was full of personality, too!

Add in the Utah Valley Symphony performing the 1812 Overture with live cannons plus a rousing Stars and Stripes Forever; arrangements featuring Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir; and tenor Rex Kocherhans joining her for renditions of "The Prayer" and "Amazing Grace."

The rainy day turned into a beautiful evening, so Utah got the rain we needed, and music lovers got an evening of beautiful and powerful music!

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th, we are thrilled to welcome Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway, recording and television star HEATHER HEADLEY (Heather Headley) to SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem for an incredible night of music. She will be accompanied by the Utah Valley Symphony, with special guest The Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir, plus guest vocalist Rex Kocherhans (a local tenor, actor and director) will sing "Amazing Grace" and "The Prayer" with Heather.

As part of the evening, our SCERA Salutes program is honoring educators, and we want to offer you FOUR (4) FREE TICKETS to the concert, which begins at 8pm (gates open at 6:30pm). AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT! scera.org/auditions

SCERA Center for the Arts announces auditions for the holiday show of its 2026-2027 Indoor Season, A CHRISTMAS STORY: THE MUSICAL. It will be directed by Kurt Elison, with music direction by Kathryn Little and choreography by Rebecca Nilson. Kelsey Seaver will stage manage.

“A Christmas Story: The Musical” will play December 4-19 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm.

Auditions will be held by appointment only on Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9 between 7:00-9:00pm at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. You can register online and sign up for your audition at the Casting Manager link below:

All roles are available. Auditioners ages 9 to adult should prepare a 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. An aux cord will be available—please have your music ready and cued. Callbacks, for those invited, will be held Saturday September 19, and will include a dance/movement section.

For those unable to audition in person you can submit a video. AUDITION VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: Once in Casting Manager, click on the role you would like to audition for and click on the Video Submission box where it will give you a place for your YouTube link.

Rehearsals will begin September 28 and generally be held Monday-Friday evenings from 7-10pm and some Saturdays. A more detailed schedule will be provided once casting is final. Please note that no conflicts will be accepted after November 27. This show will be single cast.
