Sorry I haven't updated anything here. My job has been a pain in my ... due to management and hours. You'd think after 25 years and the ability to work good shifts would still be today. In fact my seniority is 7th out of 44 supervisors.

Unfortunately, this new manager has changed alot within my job, including hours and areas that I work, so DJ'ing has been back on hold.

It's been tough as I obviously love DJ'ing, but have refrained from booking any events as I cannot be guaranteed to get the time off, so I refuse to take the chance and end up ruining or causing big headaches for potential clients by having to possibly cancel. In over 30 years, KMGC Productions has never cancelled an event. I don't want to start now.

So, again we are on hold and hope to get back soon.

I just did something that in almost 40 years, I have never done before. I just broke my first cd taking it out of the case. Ever since cd's came out and after opening and removing over 10,000 cd's from their cases, this imported cd from the EU, just snapped and broke as I was removing it from the case.

I've heard of this happening or maybe the plastic coating coming off, but I have never experienced this. This was a brand new and sealed cd. It was a double-disc set and the first cd was tough to remove, but 2nd one was a real.... well, really hard to remove, then it released easily...lol.

So having to buy a used one now.

I guess I hurt someones feelings in a DJ group as I was suspended for 7 days. A DJ wanted to know how to use Spotify for their music without any silence between tracks.

All I simply said was that DJ's should buy their music, as the couple is paying out good money to them to DJ their music for their wedding/reception, not hit 'play' and let the music stream song to song. I mean anyone can stream music and DJ's would not be needed..... apparently someone disagreed with me.

DJ'ing for 30 years and acquiring legally my music is and was alot of work and expense. I've got a lot of cd's to still go through but have 300,000 songs on mp3, ready to play. It's alot of work, but I know each song is 320 kbps for the best mp3 sound, something you cannot get with streaming on Spotify or YouTube.

I'm old school and feel DJ's should own their music and not steal it, especially since they are being paid to perform a service. I may not make many friends on DJ groups sticking to my guns here, but I can sleep at night knowing my music is 100% legal.

My parents taught me at an early age that honesty is the best policy. I passed this on to my kids and my grandkids.

So if you wonder why some DJ's are so much cheaper than others, well not having to purchase their music is obviously a good reason. I know there are those that don't care where a DJ gets their music, as long as it's played..... may you have a great event and a very strong and secure internet with no hiccups as you will not get a replay or a reboot or able to go back and do it all over again...... you get one chance, one opportunity.

Needless to say, I took the opportunity not to belong to that group any longer...

So excited, my ddj1000srt controller will be coming home from the shop. It's been in the shop for over 3 months!! If you don't know, a controller is used to mix and play music by DJ's. This is what you see DJ's touching all the time and can't wait to touch this one again!

So true. I remember each week going to KMart and they had an end cap with all the Top 40 on 45's. I'd always buy the new ones I didn't have. A whopping 87 cents each. Wish I never got rid of them.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Grassl. What started as a challenge with no electricity, a sky filled with smoke and heat from the day, everyone had such a great time. This was not just a wedding, but a friends and family fun filled event, with the Hokey Pokey, Limbo, Hula-Hoops and so much more. We were happy to be your DJ and wish you both the very best.

Challenges and challenges. In short, we are doing an event today in Sandy that now has no electricity as of this morning. It's windy and very smoky, plus we are 100% outside.

Next Saturday's DJ event In Estacada at this time is basically in the red zone due to an active fire at McIver State Park. The road to get there is in the red zone and part of their short road directly to venue. The other part of the short road and venue itself is in yellow zone at this time.

Never thought I'd say this.... but we need rain in Portland area.

This was from a recent event in Colton. We had a great time and everyone there had a blast. Yes, I dressed for the 80's again, though I liked what I wore at the last dance better, this fit well.
