Here's a look at See You Soon Raccoon, a handmade paper and mixed media drawing study that Jenn just put together. This is about 42 x 46 inches in scale.

In the future she would like to connect with spaces who would be interested in a temporary wheat pasted handmade paper mural that looks similar to this.

The little raccoon friend at the bottom would ideally be a couple of feet or more in size, so the overall mural would be at least 10 feet wide, but bigger would be good!

If you have a wall that gets a good amount of foot traffic and would like to host a mural, send us a message. Planning will be working with you in 2027.

Here's a look at Jenn's most recent piece, Deer-la Goes for a Walk. It uses handmade paper techniques like pulp painting, lace paper, and seed paper with mixed media drawing.

Over the next year or so Jenn hopes to use pieces like this as studies for larger outdoor projects involving wheat pasting handmade paper onto public buildings. Her hope is that the project would include drop in times for the public to make paper that would be included in the work, and that each piece would be temporary in nature. Right now she's applying for grants to support this next evolution of her art making.

If you would be interested in buying a print of this piece let us know in the comments. We may do a small run of prints and cards.

It's National Iris Day! These lovely irises are from Jenn's other workplace, . She's been collecting plant waste from the garden this month to use for papermaking. If you're visiting there on a Thursday or Friday you might see her walking around the garden, taking a break from her fundraising work as the Development Director.

Did you know that you can use iris leaves to make paper? It's best to wait until the fall season to cut them back. The last image is a wet piece of paper made from yellow flag iris, which is considered invasive in Oregon. It can be harvested and removed throughout the year.

Thank you to for partnering with us to offer a sweet Blackberry Stewardship and Papermaking event this past weekend.

It was a lovely day at Chinook Landing Marine Park. We are grateful to Jess, Tera, and Vanessa from Metro for the opportunity to continue working together. And we're grateful to everyone who attended and made such beautiful paper and plantable seed shapes.

This was an excellent way to start off our 2026 papermaking season! If you want to learn more about our plans for the year we're sending out our spring newsletter this week. Sign up at pulpanddeckle.com.

The tons of banana trunks left over after harvesting are being turned into raw material for clothing and paper, while mechanical extraction and controlled drying are accelerating industrialization. Seems like a promising step towards using agricultural waste for good purposes.

Banana waste is becoming fabric and paper as factories industrialize fiber extraction.
