We will be open all seven nights a week through Labor Day. After that, we transition into our fall operating schedule (Thursday - Sunday). But have no fear! We remain open all year long for brand-new releases, classic movie nights, community market events, and more!

Summa may be ending but bless us it's almost fall! We're headed back to our four-day (year-round!) schedule beginning after Labor Day.

This announcement carries a bit of weight. We've had this event scheduled to roll out today. It’s been a heavy week of loss, and what is normally a fun, lighthearted announcement for a favorite annual event now takes on a deeper meaning as we pay tribute to the late, great Tim Curry and celebrate him in one of his most iconic roles during our third annual screening of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, which takes place on October 3 & 4.

Both screenings will present a very special opportunity to see the movie in unique way beyond the drive-in setting. Saturday's show will have a LIVE CAST accompaniment thanks to our friends at Spaced Out Sensations (SOS). Sunday's screening will feature complete on-screen captions providing an accessible, quotable and sing-along-able experience.

Some notes about Saturday: We will dedicate our entire first row to performers and audience members looking to participate. SOS will also be selling prop bags night-of-show for our audience members who want to engage fully in the various cinematic rituals. This experience can be whatever you want it to be. Come be a part of the action under the screen and interact with fellow fans and cast members on the lot, or just enjoy the madness (and the movie) from afar in the comfort and privacy of your car.

We are so happy to bring this event back to the drive-in, and we hope you can join us on this very strange journey at Shankweiler's.

This week we're continuing with Insidious, but Spider-Man will be leaving us starting Friday! We'll have a brand-new (to us) second feature. Then we're headed into Labor Day weekend with Cars, and we have an announcement about our co-feature for that weekend! We also have announcements about our Vintage Bazaar on Saturday, plus our special "Tomato Tuesday" event!

INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER continues to headline another week at Shankweiler's. Starting this Friday, August 28, we catch up with the new comedy, SUPER TROOPERS 3!

We do still have a small supply of collectable Super Troopers popcorn buckets and cups, but we're almost out! Commemorative cups/buckets are only available to ticket holders in attendance, and all movie merch is first come, first serve.

By popular request, Shankweiler's Drive-In Theatre is introducing its first Vintage Bazaar on Saturday, August 29, from 10AM to 3PM! This is a new daytime vendor event that is free to attend! It features vintage clothing, retro accessories, antique home goods, physical media, and more! Our snack bar will also be open with our menu of tasty snacks and complete meal options.
