The Upper Rooms Presents BOB BENNETT WEEKLY LIVE #138 (UR-13) — SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12th, 2022 — 5pm PST / 8pm PST.

So, this whole getting dark early thing … I’m still getting used to it. I’ll eventually accept it and carry on. But there is still a little bit of that disoriented feeling, along with the occasional need for a sweater or jacket here in the most uninteresting weather jurisdiction known to humankind: Southern California. (Okay, apparently I had to get that out.)

Now, onto the actual announcement. The Studio is still under construction. So, as with last week, I’ll be livestreaming again from my home office. This week, I’ll be featuring some all-too-brief videos of a couple stellar young guitar students that played at my recent House Concert in New Braunfels, TX. It was a magical few minutes with these young men and I did my iPhone-best to capture it to share with you.

Other than that, it’ll be me (Your Humble Acoustic Servant), the Blessed Lurkers, Welcome Newcomers, the Comments Community, and our very own Message Faerie gathering as we’ve done a hundred-and-thirty-seven times before! It’s National Arts and Humanities Month— take part in a professional photo shoot and meet Metro Art-commissioned artist Moses X. Ball!

Join us for this meet-the-artist event to learn about Moses Ball’s art practice and his approach to designing the station artwork for the Purple (D Line) Extension’s Westwood/UCLA Station on Saturday, October 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is free and open to all ages. It will take place at Geffen Academy at UCLA, a secondary school for grades 6-12 located right next door to the future station.

The photo shoot is with professional photographer, Andreas Branch. Branch will photograph individuals, groups and families for portraits that artist Moses Ball will select from to develop paintings. These paintings will become part of the final artwork for the station.

Please RSVP via Eventbrite.

All attendees will receive a free digital copy of their portrait. Plus, we’ll have other fun activities happening at the event, too, and light refreshments will also be served.
