Auction Time!

This is the pilot prototype that led to the final design of the Corda Invicta Rosary.

What’s different about this piece?

It uses a thicker, higher-rated cord and was the first to carry a Mariner’s Crucifix. The current production rosary uses a thinner-diameter cord that tested over 1,000 lbs. This prototype was built the same way, with a heavier cord, so it should theoretically exceed that rating.

Dyneema cord. Purple Heart wood beads. All-bronze hardware, sand-cast in-house.

One of a kind. This is where the Corda Invicta story started.

AUCTION TIME!

Just finished a few new pieces.

1st up is a brass skull keychain hook. One of a kind, Halloween themed: Cobweb, spider, moon and stars, skulls.

2nd is another brass skull keychain hook. One of a kind with a Dia de Los Mu***os vibe: Skulls, flowers, crosses.

Both in time for the holiday.

Last is a brass Novissima Crusader. First production piece. Mini skulls on every other bead in place of the Fleur de Lis found on the original Crusaders.

2 custom Irish Penal Rosaries ready to go!

Bronze is the base metal for these robust beauties, followed by alternating Fossil Jasper and Patikan wood beads. Both tied with a combo of Aramid (Kevlar) cord and micro cord that has a theoretical tensile strength of 420 lbs. Three of the beads have bronze spacers to represent the opening prayers. These are far from typical rosaries… all the metal was designed, cast and formed in-house by yours truly. I build them to last a lifetime and stand behind every one.

Fun side note: Bronze is a strong, durable copper-tin alloy valued for its hardness, toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance. Its high copper content also gives it natural antibacterial properties that help inhibit the growth of many harmful microbes, one reason older homes used to have copper or brass k***s.

Silver Cross with Abalone Inlay

Made this special cross for my niece, who brought me some abalone shells to work with. I hadn’t used this material before, so I improvised a bit… hand cut the shell with a jeweler’s saw, carved a wax cross, and cast it in silver. Lots of refining to get everything fitting just right.

I’ll need to do a little more research on working with abalone, as I’ve already got a few more ideas brewing… all in all I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out. What do you think?

As a maker, I’m a total sucker for functional art. Even when a design is purely technical, it can still be beautiful. Every curve exists because it has to. Nothing’s there for show, and somehow that’s what makes it so damn good looking!

I lost my old Bialetti moka a while back, and when I finally went looking for a replacement, the turbo moka found me. So far I love it. Made by a small Italian company, everything produced exclusively in Italy. No outsourcing. No shortcuts. The way it was meant to be.

Now if you’ll excuse me, this strong caffeinated elixir isn’t going to drink itself.

Meet EL LUCHITO… the little bottle opener that body slams bottle caps for a living.

This Luchito rocks a high nickel brass mask… cast in house and hand finished, no two exactly alike… stitched onto Horween leather (rough out) with Italian green leather layer slammed in between. All hand cut, hand stitched with premium Ritza Tiger thread in pea green.

Inspired by the legends of Lucha Libre, El Luchito doesn’t talk trash… he just opens your b**r and lets the bottle cap tap out.

Tag your drinking buddy who needs one of these in their pocket!
