Right Angle Entertainment joins millions around the world in mourning the passing of the incomparable Dolly Parton.

Dolly was so much more than an extraordinary artist. She was a songwriter, storyteller, philanthropist and singular creative force whose warmth, humor and humanity reached across generations. From the mountains of East Tennessee to stages around the world, she had an extraordinary ability to make people feel welcome, hopeful and connected.

Her generosity extended far beyond the stage. Through her lifelong commitment to literacy, education and the communities she loved, Dolly demonstrated the same compassion and belief in people that defined so much of her work. She didn't simply entertain the world; she made it a little kinder.

It has been a deep privilege for all of us at Right Angle Entertainment to help bring Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol to audiences across the country. The show carries so much of what made Dolly special, her love of the Smoky Mountains, her faith in the possibility of redemption, her sense of humor, her generosity of spirit and, of course, her music. It also reflects her remarkable instinct for theatrical storytelling, using music, laughter and heart to bring people together.

As we prepare to bring the production back to stages across the country this holiday season, the tour will carry a meaning none of us could have anticipated. We will proudly dedicate this holiday season’s performances to Dolly’s memory, celebrating not only the extraordinary body of work she leaves behind, but the joy, compassion and generosity she brought to the world.

Written in 1885 and inspired by a strange and feverish dream, Stevenson created this Gothic horror to expose the treacherous and terrifying nature of a fractured self. Unable to quell his darkest desires, Dr. Henry Jekyll becomes convinced he can separate the good and evil within. Using science, he attempts to sever his two identities, unleashing a terrifying double life through the creation of Edward Hyde. What begins as a daring experiment spirals into a desperate struggle between the two identities as each battles for control and survival. Which side will win? With Aquila’s signature style—its bold physicality, topnotch actors and inventive staging—this gripping theatrical adaptation dives deep into the human psyche, asking timeless and urgent questions about morality, repression and the battles born out of darkness.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dolly Parton.

We celebrate her legacy and endless contributions to music, Broadway, film, entertainment, education and so much more that will continue to have a lasting impact.🦋

Global icon and humanitarian, Dolly Parton, known to the world as a beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright, and author died peacefully today in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 80 years old.

Dolly is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Carl Thomas Dean (1942 – 2025), her mother Avie Lee Caroline Owens (1923 – 2003), and father, Robert Lee Parton, Sr. (1921 – 2000).

A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family. Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. With a seven-decade career, she inspired multiple generations of artists and fans with her music and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.

At Dolly’s request, a small, private service will be held for immediate family. Dolly’s fans and friends from around the world are encouraged to pay tribute to Dolly on social media by tagging or by leaving a message at www.dollyparton.com

Tall Stories’ much-loved magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler returns by popular demand, celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary. On a daring adventure in search of hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the high-spirited Snake. Will the story of the scary Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo–is there? Songs, laughs and mischievous fun for children aged 3 and up and their grown-ups, from Tall Stories, creators of imaginative storytelling theatre, where everything is possible.

Lutcher Incredible Kids Events Show Spotlight! ✏️

☂️ Harold and the Purple Crayon

One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight. So begins Harold and the Purple Crayon, the first of seven delightful picture books by Crockett Johnson, following the zany adventures of an inventive young boy. As it turned out, there wasn’t any moon that night nor was there a path to walk on, so Harold simply drew them. And thus his journey began. Resourceful and brave, Harold creates the world he wants to explore, using nothing more than a big purple crayon and his sky’s-the-limit imagination.

Enchantment Theatre’s production will take your school and family audiences on a wild ride as Harold jets to Mars (shooting stars, space ships!), joins a circus (he tames a lion!) and rescues a princess in an enchanted castle. The Harold books have captivated families for more than sixty years, celebrating the imagination of children and the unique way they see the world. The show combines life-size puppets, pantomime, dance, magic and original music.
