The Last Witness

Soft Pastel, 18" x 14", Canson-Mi-Teintes
Part of my industrial series, this piece explores rust, worn steel, and the traces of human labor. I wanted the crow to add a sense of life and presence to the setting, suggesting that nature is beginning to reclaim the space.

Oil Painting done in Tustin, California, USA

I am fascinated by barns and farm buildings. I really enjoy painting old wood like that on this old barn. As with most of my oil paintings, this scene is a mixture of items from my memory. I was inspired by a valley I saw in Pennsylvania and a I added a barn I had seen in the Midwest. The wheat field is just from a field in my father-in-law's farm. I had fun with the autumn colors. This was a small painting for me and only 12" x 16". I am glad you enjoyed it.

Conundrum

This was a fun painting to do. I was checking out the sprinklers and noticed a crow looking at one of the pomegranates that had dropped from our tree. Already wet, he seemed to have a decision to make, get wetter or get lunch? The setting was perfect for an atmospheric reveal.

I had a career as a shoe designer and was so inspired by the mosaic art all around my new home in Dana Point that I wanted to explore this different art form. I also fell in love with the beach and the natural beauty of seashells and sea glass. Combining the two passions has me churning out all sorts of whimsical sea fantasies!

Sunset Blue Harbor

my artwork is drawn using heavy duty 9 x 12 white mix media paper. I typically use castle arts colored pencils, staedtler triplus fine line markers and Ohuhu Gel ink pens, watercolor markers,and colored chalk. My inspiration was to create a new larger village that would fit well in a landscape setting to match the original portrait.

This piece came from watching my husband and son play chess. Using soft layers, lost edges and subtle shifts in value, I wanted the pieces to emerge from the atmosphere, capturing less of the game and more of the quiet time they share.
