Mother’s Day is not about having it all together—it’s about choosing Jesus in the middle of exhaustion and pressure. Mary of Bethany was remembered not for performance or productivity, but for sitting at the feet of Christ and choosing what truly mattered (Luke 10:39–42). She loved Jesus with honest, wholehearted worship even when others misunderstood her (John 11:32–35, John 12:3). If you’ve been feeling exhausted or like you’re constantly trying to measure up, Jesus reminds you that your worth is not found in how much you produce. Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is stop striving and sit at His feet again.
Mary of Bethany was remembered because she stayed near Jesus while others were distracted, striving, or preoccupied. She understood what many still miss today: the presence of Christ is worth more than applause, productivity, or appearances. Long after the crowds dispersed, Scripture still remembers the woman who worshiped at His feet. And maybe that is the reminder so many women — especially mothers — need today: you do not have to do everything perfectly to be faithful; you simply need to stay close to Him.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who quietly pour out love, carry heavy things with grace, and still make room at the feet of Jesus. In loving memory of Noah and Grace RIP Momma loves you both 💕😘
