The multi-faceted producer blends elements of downtempo and experimental techno with beautifully crafted melodies realised via indigenous instrumentation native to his homeland. The end result is truly unique music which exudes authenticity and challenges the listener to reconsider what they feel is synonymous with popular music in Latin America.
Discussing the inspiration and creative process to effectively blend the sounds of electronic and South America folklore, Cruz explains the importance of mysticism to achieve that genuine vibe which resonates:
"That, for me, at technical levels, is a mid-point between happy and sad, which I would say is mystery, or mystics... like when it changes from day to night or vice-versa; that weird light effect that appears for a few minutes... that sensation translated to music. Now, that’s something interesting about the music from the mountains of South America; there’s a lot of mysticism in those melodies, on those particular instruments, wooden sikus, charangos, vocal harmonies, bombos…"
