REMEMBERING AVIVA. (1940-2023)

Dear Painting Friends Worldwide, With hearts full of sadness and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Aviva.

After several months of illness, on the evening of August 31, by the light of a rare super blue full moon, she slipped across the veil and into the arms of the Magic Source.

For many of us, Aviva was a spiritual mother, a teacher, a guide, a midwife to our artist’s soul and creative spirit.a true Art Medicine Woman. She held space for our exploration through the many dimensions of creation. She piqued our curiosity and imagination and taught us how to express ourselves creatively and authentically...how to express and transform difficult emotions...how to expand to embody our own power and magnificence. And above all, to “trust the process” in art and all of life.

Memorial Painting Event

One of Aviva’s grand wishes was to see an entire sports stadium or arena filled with thousands of people painting together.

So in that spirit, we would like to hold a global painting event in her memory and honor. And rather than being all in one big arena, we will create an etheric container together, or perhaps think of ourselves as starlights twinkling around the globe. Let’s turn the planet into a “kindergarten painting chapel” and paint together over the course of a few days.

More details will follow, but the current vision is that sometime between October 31 and November 2

Dear Painting Friends Worldwide, With hearts full of sadness and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Aviva.

For many of us, Aviva was a spiritual mother, a teacher, a guide, a midwife to our artist’s soul and creative spirit.a true Art Medicine Woman. She held space for our exploration through the many dimensions of creation. She piqued our curiosity and imagination and taught us how to express ourselves creatively and authentically...how to express and transform difficult emotions...how to expand to embody our own power and magnificence. And above all, to “trust the process” in art and all of life.

She was beautiful, wild and wise, original, a shamanic journeyer and cosmic traveler...a Force of Nature.

She leaves behind many friends and family, most notably her three sons, Sabin, Max, and Josh…along with thousands of painting students and soul sisters and brothers across the world.

She also leaves a legacy of igniting the creative spark in us and her vibrant, indomitable spirit will live on through the many lives she touched and enriched with her creative and spiritual guidance.

More details will follow, but the current vision is that sometime between October 31 and November 2 we will create and hold space for this memorial painting event, giving people around the world an opportunity to paint and do ceremony, together in small groups, or alone as desired, to connect with any number of groups that may choose to form, short or long, large or small during this window of time. You can paint as little or as much as you desire, comforted in knowing we’re all connected in a container, sharing the same intent.

If you would like to host an in-person or virtual gathering or find a group to connect with, please join the private Facebook group created just for this event. This will be our hub where you can find out when and where painting is happening, be updated on information as it evolves, find Zoom links, share paintings, etc.

Dear Painting Friends World Wide,
You are so important and special to me. I can see your dear faces. Since Covid, I have been teaching less and I miss painting with you, I miss being with you. And yet, I also feel oddly connected to you in this moment. I feel so grateful for you in my life. I can feel your love. I hope you feel mine?

I have not been idle.

About the movie script: The first draft of the Kings Quest script is done. The story has evolved with a few new twists and characters. It still needs lots of work but it has come a far way. Don Thompson and I made the Nov 30th deadline for the submission to the “Rewrite the Future” fellowship script competition sponsored by NRDC. There are 347 entries and 3 fellowships offered. The 15 semi-finalists will be announced next week. Fingers crossed. I will be amazed if I make it with no experience writing a script story but you never know. Right? I always keep reaching for the heavens.

We did receive a promising evaluation from WeScreenPlay:

"The theme of this piece is so strong that it could sell it outright if pitched correctly. I could see it going to a streamer or studio."

"KING'S QUEST" is close, but not quite there yet. Continue to tighten, trim, re-shape and fiddle with the structure of this piece -- soon enough it will be humming."

The generous donations (about $3,500) that many of you gave has been wisely spent. Now the work of honing the script and pitching it to the industry begins. Thus, I ask those of you who have not yet donated, to please donate now.

SYNCHRONICITY. WE PAINT OUR HERO’S JOURNEY
Dear Painting Friends Worldwide,
“Did you ever imagine you would write a movie story?" asked my friend Liz. “No”, and then I continued, “not until 23 years ago when I realized that a movie was the best way to get a healing message to the world”. So I am finally writing the ultimate ”Hero’s Journey” movie to inspire world cooperation and Love. I have no studies or specific experience in storytelling or movie making, but fantastical deeply moving ideas and visions are downloading through me … all the details are falling into place. SYNCHRONICITY. NO ACCIDENTS, NO MISTAKES. Yes, years of being a mother, painter, dancer, yogi, teacher, spiritual practitioner, psychoanalyst (with Jungian and Gestalt studies/influence), delving into my own and others' internal landscape, unconscious and collective unconscious realms plus facilitating facilitating creativity the world over, prepares me to write an inspiring movie.
