Did you know that over the past couple years we have awarded over $3000 in scholarships to local high school students who have a love of musical theatre and have shared their talents with us?
That is why we exist. Simply put, our entire mission is focused on cultivating a community where people who value theatre can come together to create and enjoy art. We also place a special emphasis on fostering support for high school students who join our community. Whether they are on the stage, in the pit, backstage, or controlling lights or sound, we value their contributions and support their journeys. We look forward to the end of each year when we are able to celebrate our recipients and honor them with monetary scholarships.
How do we fund these scholarships? As a nonprofit organization, most of our funding is sourced from our ticket sales from our fall musical. One challenge with this is that there are ultimately rising costs of putting on a musical production that are beyond our control. Every musical requires a financial investment to purchase rights and licensing fees, lumber, paint, costumes, props, and a myriad of other items! We are good stewards of what we have and remain fiscally conservative. We recycle set pieces. We source costumes from storage. We work in partnership with local theatre companies to share and borrow. We also remain committed to keeping our ticket prices reasonable so that our high-quality productions are accessible to the community. We are proud of all of these factors.
We are also proud of our NAC community. We know that NAC supporters are special and it is because of you that we are able to continue to meet our mission.
As part of our Annual NACtor drive, we are reaching out to see if you would consider committing to a financial donation to help offset some production costs so we can continue to focus on our ultimate goal of providing scholarships.
