There’s a first time for everything, as they say. ❤️
Over the weekend, Covered Bridge Players witnessed our very first re-proposal! Season ticket holders Doris and Jon Vann celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to the theatre, where Jon surprised Doris with a re-proposal and a beautiful pair of diamond earrings.

Their original proposal actually took place at a dinner theatre, so a re-proposal during another show just felt right.

From their daughter:“He told me that when they got engaged, he didn’t actually ask her to marry him. The story is, he took her other ring off her finger and put the engagement ring on. It took her a while to notice it was a different ring. So this was his first time to actually get down on one knee and propose! Their 40th wedding anniversary is May 24th!”

Re-congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you to their daughter for sharing these special photos with us!

That’s a wrap on “12 Angry Men” and on another incredible season for the Covered Bridge Players.

This cast brought honesty, intensity, humor, and heart to every rehearsal and performance, and audiences felt it every night. Thank you to everyone who came out to support live theatre these past two weekends. Your reactions, conversations, and standing ovations reminded us exactly why stories like this still matter.

As we close the curtain on our 2025–2026 season, we’re grateful for every actor, volunteer, sponsor, crew member, and audience member who made this year possible. Community theatre only exists because of the people who believe in it, support it, and show up for it, and we are so thankful you continue to do exactly that.

To this cast and crew: thank you for the hard work, trust, and passion you poured into this production.

We will see you at the theatre again….soon.

Today, we wrap up our “Twelve Angry Men” cast introductions with Juror 12, Mr. Sherman White.

Sherman Tucker White (Juror 12), a 31-year-old photographer from Oneonta, is stepping out from behind the lens to make his acting debut at the Neely Theatre, playing the 12th Juror in "12 Angry Men." While he typically captures the stage productions on film, he's now taking his place inside the story. When he's not on stage, he enjoys spending time with family, helping folks downtown, and truly living life to the fullest, all while keeping his faith in the Lord at his core.

Seats are still available for next weekend’s performances. Purchase tickets at coveredbridgeplayers.ludus.com.

Let’s continue to get to know the cast of “Twelve Angry Men”. Seats are still available for today’s performance at 2pm and next weekend’s performances. Get tickets here: coveredbridgeplayers.ludus.com.

Tom Gorman (Juror 11) lives in the town of Cleveland, Alabama. He retired in 2020 after working 27 years helping people with substance abuse issues. He continues to spend about three hours a week doing lectures on the subject. He
enjoys golf, cultivating roses and tending to his yard, his home, cooking and Sudoku. But most of all he enjoys his family. Juror 11 is Tom’s debut role on the CBP stage, or any stage for that matter, except for his memorable portrayal of Grinch in five
Christmas parades. Tom says that the things he has enjoyed most about being in “Twelve Angry Men” is simply participating in the process, the fellowship with cast and crew, and a wonderful outside the box experience.
