Nine years ago, I met Al Taylor. We had just painted rocks at the Onekama Fairgrounds. He asked us to paint rocks for the Onekama Fall Festival. Then, every summer AND every Fall after that, I would hear from Al. The conversation was always the same. WHO COULD SAY "NO" TO AL???

In the beginning, the crowd wasn't big, but in the 9 years to follow, we have grown to a point where we probably see closer to 100+ artists for each of the PLA events.

A couple summers ago we chatted. I said to Al, "Who knew we would have such a following." He looked me in the eye and said "Janet, what's not fun about painting a rock?"

Saturday, we all get to honor his legacy at the concert in the park from 6 to 8 pm. Don't miss the AL - A - PALOOZA concert!

In his honor, I have painted a few rocks and have hidden them around town and in the park.
