Your weekend just got more fun! And, now with more Pumpkin Spice! Join us on Saturday, October 10th, as we host our monthly open Improv Jam! Jump in and PLAY...or, just watch and LAUGH!

Doors open at 7:30pm…and the Jam starts at 8pm. Admission is only $5.

This is open to people of any level of improv experience...from no experience to advanced players. For the "Improv Curious," come and watch...or, sign up to play. If you take improv or acting classes, this is great way to practice what you've learned. Or, just try something new and have some fun! Random scenes, short-form, any form...or no form. And, we end the evening with “Dog-pile!” (What’s that? Come find out.)

[Adult content. 18+ in order to play.]

Please note: This is an Improv Jam. All things improv are welcome. This is NOT an "open mic" (no stand-up...no sketch.)

Kevin McDonald, comedy legend and founding member of the groundbreaking sketch comedy troupe, “The Kids In The Hall,” is coming to The Oasis Comedy Theatre.

On Saturday, September 26th, Kevin will be performing his internationally renowned one-man show “Kevin McDonald and Friends.” (Don’t ask.)
Kevin will be doing his acclaimed stand-up and story-telling…sharing tales of The Kids In The Hall. Also, Kevin will perform improv comedy with select members of Oasis Comedy Theatre’s improv teams. The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A.

Doors open at 7:00pm…Show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $30 (plus service fee) and are available for purchase online at: https://www.oasiscomedytheatre.com/shows-and-events

One of Kevin’s most popular workshops is “One Line Premise.”

If you do improv, write sketch, or perform stand-up…the One Line Premise workshop will help you expand your skills. Each student is asked to come to the workshop with a one line premise. For example: “What if a guy was $10 short of being a millionaire.”

Kevin will guide the group to take each students premise and hone it into a more complete comedy piece. A new feature of the workshop is that, at the conclusion, Kevin will have each student take their ideas home and finish polishing up their work. They can then email their work to Kevin, who will evaluate their sketch and return it with his personal notes.

Kevin will probably also regale you with more stories about the Kids In The Hall throughout the day. He hopes you enjoy them (or, at least pretend.)

No prior experience is necessary. Just bring something to write with (and on)…and a desire to learn and have fun!

The workshop runs from 12:00pm until 4:00pm, on Sunday, September 27th. The cost of the workshop is $150 (plus service fee.) All payments must be received by the final deadline, in order to be considered registered for this course. Final deadline for registration is Friday, September 25th.

Comedy legend Kevin McDonald is teaching one of his most requested workshops: “Improv To Sketch.”

In this workshop, Kevin will teach the students the Kids In The Hall method of turning improv scenes into sketch comedy. You’ll be engaged in exercises that lead you naturally into thinking about writing and performing at the same time. Kevin then runs small groups of students through improv scenes and guides each group through the process of turning those scenes into developed comedy sketches.

Also, if you ask him nicely, Kevin will tell lots of stories about the Kids In The Hall (actually, he’ll probably tell those stories anyway…whether you ask him or not.)

No prior improv or sketch writing experience is required. All you need is something to take notes with…and a desire to learn and have fun!

The workshop runs from 12:00pm until 4:00pm, on Saturday, September 26th. The cost of the workshop is $150 (plus service fee.) All payments must be received by the final deadline, in order to be considered registered for this course. Final deadline for registration is Thursday, September 24th.
