YOU CAME. YOU SHOWED UP. YOU BROKE RECORDS.

The 100th Scott County Fair is officially in the books.

And first things first… we broke records for HEAT. Dadgummit, it was HOT.

But more importantly — Scott County showed up.

We set a new gate record with WELL OVER 5,000 people in attendance.

For a little county fair in Scott County, Tennessee, celebrating its 100th year, that means more to us than we can possibly say.

THANK YOU.

A HUGE shoutout to the Town of Oneida and Takahata Precision Tennessee, who made it possible for our community to enjoy the fair with FREE GATE ADMISSION.

But this fair wasn't made by one or two sponsors.

It was made by every single person who showed up.

Every business that sponsored the fair or paid to hang a sign.

Every volunteer who worked when it was hotter than blue blazes.

Every person who entered an exhibit.

Every family who walked through those gates.

Every kid who showed an animal.

Every parent who hauled somebody to a pageant.

Every person who bought a ticket, rode a ride, ate fair food, or stood around visiting with somebody they hadn't seen in a while.

YOU made the 100th happen.

And we hope you saw that we're working to grow.

This year, with the help of Oneida Schools FFA and UT Extension, we brought livestock back to the fair — goats, chickens and the livestock show! A huge thank-you to both organizations for putting in the work to make that happen.

Then there were the exhibits.

Y'all…

MORE THAN 2,000 EXHIBITS.

You read that right.

More than 2,000 things that somebody grew, canned, baked, quilted, stitched, painted, photographed, created or made with their own two hands.

THAT is what a county fair is all about.

We had more than 120 girls participate in our Fairest of the Fair pageants, and one of the most special moments of our 100th celebration was the inaugural Miss Sunshine pageant.

We can already tell you this:

Miss Sunshine is here to stay.

And then there were the candied apples.

Scott County, once again, YOU BOUGHT THE CANDIED APPLES.

There was heat.

There were goats.

There were chickens.

There were pageants.

There were tractors, shriners, game wardens.

There were 2,000+ exhibits.

There were candied apples.

There were midway rides spinning people who probably had no business getting on them after eating said candied apples.

And yes… there was a little vomit on the midway.

That's a county fair, folks.

To the Town of Oneida, who does so much behind the scenes to help make this fair possible…

To our sponsors…

To FFA and UT Extension…

To the exhibitors…

To the pageant families…

To the vendors…

To the people working the gates…

To the volunteers who worked long, hot hours…

And to every single one of you who walked through those gates:

THANK YOU!!!!

Our fair may be small. There are things we want to add, things we want to improve and plenty of ideas already brewing.

But we're building.

We're growing.

And after seeing Scott County show up the way you did for number 100, we're pretty excited about where we go from here.

We made it to 100.

Not everybody gets to say that.

So here's to the people who built this fair before us, the people who kept it going, and the people who showed up this year to make sure the tradition continues.

Scott County, here's looking at 101.

EDUCATIONAL BOOTH WINNERS — SCOTT COUNTY FAIR 100TH ANNIVERSARY!

One of our favorite traditions at the Scott County Fair is our Educational Booth competition — and this year, 24 organizations & businesses participated!

In honor of our 100th Anniversary, we asked our exhibitors to take us on a look back through time, and they absolutely understood the assignment. ❤️

From old photographs and equipment to stories of how services, technology and organizations have changed through the years, these booths helped tell a little piece of the story of Scott County.

BEST OF SHOW — The Highland Connection
Their display took us through the history of communication in Scott County — from the early days of telephone service all the way to today's fiber internet.

1st Runner-Up — Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Oneida/Huntsville
A look back at generations of learning, skills and workforce training — and the people who helped build our community along the way.

2nd Runner-Up — SCOTT COUNTY RESCUE SQUAD
A trip through the history of local rescue service, complete with equipment and memories showing just how far emergency response has come.

3rd Runner-Up — Big South Fork Medical Center
A beautiful look at the history of healthcare in our community and the people and stories behind it.

To all 24 of our Educational Booth participants — THANK YOU. These booths take time, research, old photographs dug out of boxes, things borrowed from closets and attics, and a whole lot of creativity.

For our 100th year, you didn't just decorate a booth.

You helped us tell 100 years of Scott County's story.

Come walk through the exhibit building and take a look for yourself. There is a whole lot of history tucked inside those little wooden booths!

FREE GATE ADMISSION FOR EVERYONE!

We know things are tough right now, and for a lot of families, every little bit matters.

This one is just who we are as a community,

The Town of Oneida and Takahata Precision Tennessee asked us for the opportunity to partner with the Scott County Fair, and they wanted to do something that would make a difference for local families.

So they did.

🎟️ FREE GATE ADMISSION FOR EVERYONE!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT — Town of Oneida Night
THURSDAY NIGHT — Takahata Night
Gates open at 6 p.m.

Bring Grandma. Bring Papaw. Bring the kids, nieces, nephews, cousins — bring the whole crew. Everybody gets through the gate FREE.

You’ll still need to purchase your food, games and rides — one-price ride bands are $20 — but getting your family through the gate? That’s covered.

This is our 100th year, and we want as many people as possible to be able to come out, walk through the exhibits, see friends, make some memories and be part of this milestone.

A huge thank you to the Town of Oneida and Takahata Precision Tennessee for stepping up and saying, our community and our families matter.

Because they do.

100 years of the Scott County Fair — and still the best week of the year.

Thank you to Ben Garrett for our design
