There’s nothing quite like exciting short track racing under the lights and then watching the sky above the speedway explode with fireworks!

This Sunday night, September 6th, the One Way Septic Tank Service / Rent-A-Kann, LLC Firecracker Extravaganza brings two of our favorites together for one big night; short track racing and a massive fireworks show!

All 7 Ona Speedway divisions will battle on track with drivers chasing special America 250 trophies. When the final checkered flag falls, the sky above the speedway will come alive with a full fireworks show presented by Putnam County Bank and Bill & Lynn Bauer.

And we mean a FIREWORKS SHOW. Not a handful of fireworks shot off after the races, this will be a big, booming finale filling the sky over the speedway and putting the perfect ending on Labor Day Weekend.

General admission Sunday is $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.

This Sunday's One Way Septic Tank Service / Rent-A-Kann, LLC Firecracker Extravagana will give teams a break from the Run for the Title points championship hunt as it will be a non-points race. Teams will be focused on getting a race win Sunday and taking home one of the America 250 trophies with no worries on points.

However, next Saturday, September 12th for RECO Products Kids Night, the points will once again take center stage as it will be the next to last points race of the season! Last Saturday during AEG/Bobcat of Advantage Valley Night, the points leader in each division was able to extend their points lead.

Last year, 195 of the coolest cars, trucks and motorcycles jam packed the Ona Speedway for the West Virginia Roar & Soar Cruise In & Plane Show! This is a car show like no other as registrants get to make a slow lap around the track and park around the infield of the speedway, making for some incredible photo opportunities.

Richard Petty won 3 NASCAR Cup Series races at Ona Speedway. This Sunday night, we’re celebrating that history by giving fans the chance to take home a piece of it.

During intermission at the One Way Septic Tank Service / Rent-A-Kann, LLC Firecracker Extravaganza, we’ll be giving away several pieces of autographed Richard Petty memorabilia. These giveaways are part of our celebration of Richard Petty’s history at Ona Speedway and the plaque presentation we recently made in his honor.

For longtime race fans, this is going to be a pretty special opportunity as you’ll have the chance to go home with memorabilia signed by one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history at the same track where he won 3 Cup Series races.

And that’s only part of the night. All 7 Ona Speedway divisions will be racing, drivers will be chasing the special America 250 trophies, the first 400 fans through the general admission gate will receive an America 250 souvenir bracelet, and after the final race we’ll end the night with a huge fireworks show!

Racing starts at 6:30 pm on Sunday. General admission is only $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.

26 different drivers have visited Ona Speedway victory lane this season in just 6 races! The competition and racing action this season has simply been off the charts!

Classes such as the Skeens Towing and Recovery Street Stocks and Brody Nash, Realtor - C21 Crown Vics have seen 5 different winners in 6 races while the Contempo Trophy & Awards, Inc. UCAR's and Legends depot INEX Legends Cars have seen 4 different winners in 6 races!

Will we see another new driver reach victory lane during Sunday's One Way Septic Tank Service / Rent-A-Kann, LLC Firecracker Extravaganza? We are hearing of several new familiar faces that will be back to the track this Sunday to do battle 😎.

Come see some cool airplanes at Saturday's West Virginia Roar & Soar Cruise In & Plane Show from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm!

The Ona Airpark houses some of the coolest planes in the region and many of the pilots at the airport are gracious enough to bring their planes out for everyone to get a close look at them during Roar & Soar!

For anyone with a plane not housed at Ona Airpark wanting to be part of the show, you can fly into Ona Airpark and we will park you in the designated area for planes for the show. There is no registration fee for planes.

Every feature winner this Sunday night will take home something special!

At Sunday's One Way Septic Tank Service / Rent-A-Kann, LLC Firecracker Extravaganza, drivers in all 7 divisions will be racing for a special America 250 trophy as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Each winner will get the chance to take home a piece of Ona Speedway history with this special once-in-a-lifetime trophy.

The racing this season has been off the hook and drivers will no doubt be racing a little harder Sunday night to get this trophy!

Come watch the drivers battle for the America 250 trophy, then stay for Cabell County's most thrilling fireworks show after the final checkered flag!

Have you ever wanted to take your own car around Ona Speedway?

This Saturday, September 5th, you’ll get that chance during the West Virginia Roar & Soar Cruise In & Plane Show.

For only $10, you can bring out your car, truck or motorcycle, take a slow lap around the same historic speedway where NASCAR legends once raced, then park it on the track and be part of the show.

That’s one of the coolest parts of Roar & Soar. You’re not just pulling into a parking lot for a normal car show. You’re bringing your ride onto West Virginia’s most historic speedway.

Registration runs from 7:00 am until 9:00 am, and the show is from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

The first 50 cars, trucks and motorcycles registered will also receive a special commemorative Roar & Soar dash plaque.

It’s only $10 to enter your car. Take a lap, park on the track and be part of one of the coolest car shows in West Virginia.

Bring out something you’re proud of and put it on display where NASCAR history was made!
