🌺✨ ¡Viva Frida! ✨🌺
For more than 15 years, I have produced Frida Kahlo and Día de los Mu***os inspired exhibitions, gatherings, and celebrations throughout Omaha. Some of those events became among the most attended and beloved exhibitions of my career. Yet somehow, Frida continues to call me back.
This year feels different.
As many of you know, I am standing at a threshold in my own life...one marked by healing, transformation, self-discovery, and the ongoing journey of becoming who I truly am.
And perhaps that is why Frida continues to inspire me.
Not because she was perfect.
Not because she was easy to understand.
But because she refused to abandon herself.
Through heartbreak.
Through illness.
Through reinvention.
Through criticism.
Through extraordinary beauty and unimaginable pain.
She continued creating.
She continued expressing.
She continued becoming.
To me, Frida represents the Divine Feminine in her most untamed form...creative, emotional, sensual, resilient, intuitive, courageous, and unapologetically authentic.
Her life reminds us that our scars do not diminish our beauty.
Our struggles do not diminish our worth.
And our uniqueness is not something to hide, but something to celebrate.
In many ways, this exhibition mirrors my own journey.
As I continue walking a more spiritual and authentic path, I find myself letting go of the expectations, obligations, and versions of myself that no longer fit.
There is a freedom that comes with that.
A freedom to create what calls to my soul.
A freedom to speak with my own voice.
A freedom to honor wonder, beauty, ritual, creativity, and meaning.
As I move forward, not everything will come with me.
What remains will be only that which feels authentic.
Only that which inspires passion.
Only that which reflects the life I am intentionally creating.
And that is exactly why I am so excited to officially join the creative community at Clover24 with:
✨ ¡Viva Frida! A Living Altar and Curated Exhibition ✨
Midwest Frida Fest presents: ¡Viva Frida! A Living Altar and Curated Exhibition
July 17–31, 2026
An immersive exhibition featuring original artwork, living altars, devotional installations, Frida-inspired adornment, symbolism, beauty, storytelling, and creative expression.
More than an art show, this is a living tribute to resilience, creativity, identity, and the courage to be fully yourself.
We are still accepting artists, collaborators, performers, musicians, and creative contributors who feel called to be part of this experience.
And when you attend, I encourage you to channel your own inner Frida.
Wear the flowers.
Wear the colors.
Wear the jewelry.
Wear the hat.
Wear the crown.
Wear the unibrow if you wish.
Adorn yourself in a way that celebrates who you are.
Because this exhibition is ultimately about something much larger than Frida herself.
It is about the beauty of our unique expression in the world.
It is about how we inspire one another by living authentically.
It is about joy.
Wonder.
Creativity.
Resilience.
Love.
And the courage to bloom exactly as we are.
