Because apparently I cannot leave a bottle cap, bead, bit of yarn, tiny skull, heart or random interesting thing alone. 😂

These little mixed-media Charm Pins are the newest things coming out of my studio.

Part bag charm.
Part brooch.
Part tiny wearable assemblage.

Clip one onto a bag, pin it to a jacket, add it to a hat, or find somewhere completely unexpected for it to live.

The first ones were created for ¡Viva Frida!, but this is definitely not where they're ending.

I'm already thinking about Halloween (obviously), sacred hearts, ravens, strange little vintage things and whatever else finds its way onto my worktable.

Each one is handmade and one-of-a-kind, so no two will ever be exactly alike.

¡Viva! Frida First Friday Fiesta and closing celebration
Tomorrow, we celebrate one final time.

For the past two weeks, ¡Viva Frida! has filled Clover24 with color, flowers, hearts, stories, symbolism, altars, installations and the work of more than 20 local artists.

And tomorrow night, we bring it all together for one last celebration.

For the ¡Viva! Frida First Friday Fiesta and closing celebration, we're asking you to do something a little different.

Don't just come SEE the art.

COME AS ART.

This is not a Frida costume contest.
You don't need to dress like Frida.
And you certainly don't need a costume.

Come as YOU.... turned all the way up.

Wear the dress you've always thought was too dramatic.

The jacket covered in patches.
The handmade skirt.
The enormous jewelry.
The embroidered jeans.
The flowers in your hair.
The vintage treasure.
The strange hat.
The clashing prints.
The boots.
The sequins.
The thing you made yourself.
The thing you've been saving because you never had anywhere to wear it.

Wear something that tells us who you are before you ever say a word.
