Auditions!!! Auditions continue TONIGHT at Lincoln Community Playhouse for "Dear Evan Hansen"

AUDITIONS TONIGHT!

Lincoln Community Playhouse holds auditions for Dear Evan Hansen on June 8 and 9 at the Playhouse, 2500 S. 56th Street. There are eight roles available and actors must be at least 16 years old by June 15, 2026, to audition. Auditionees ages 16-18 must have parental permission. Performances are August 14-16, 21-23, and 28-30.

Actors should bring a prepared vocal solo of 32 bars from a contemporary musical (not Dear Evan Hansen) or a pop music selection. Solos should be songs that showcase acting interpretation as well as music skills. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. No a capella solos. Video auditions will be accepted by contacting Larisa at [email protected] for details. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, June 10. Attendance at callbacks is highly advised.

Dear Evan Hansen will be directed by Emma Jorgenson with music direction by Bryson Cole, scenic design by Parker Rogers, technical direction by Jeff Maldavs, costume design by Maralee Maldavs, lighting design by Erica Lauren Maholmes, and sound design by Fernando Dominguez.

With a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Dear Evan Hansen is the story of seventeen-year-old, Evan Hansen, who has felt invisible his entire life. But when a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begin to unravel, though, Evan is forced to confront the fact that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for. Please note this show sensitively addresses themes of mental health and su***de.
