Is this safe
Hey I recently moved into a new apartment in an older building. All the outlets are two pronged, but in my new computer room I found this outlet with a grounding adapter on it. Is it safe to run outlet strip on mainly for computer use? And if not what’s a safe alternative

“High voltage wires” pulled in for a 277V lighting system we’re installing.
Had to laugh when someone called this high voltage. Like… high voltage? What are you, a communications tech?
Clean pulls, nice bends, everything looking pretty — but calling 277V “high voltage” feels like electrician rage bait waiting to happen.
Anyone else hear people call anything above 120 “high voltage” and immediately lose a little faith?

Why would this fail inspection? 🤷‍♂️
I’m genuinely curious what the issue is here. If anyone sees what the inspector might be calling out, I’d appreciate the explanation. ⚡🧰

Fix for exposed wire in run
Found this beauty in my floor joists, 10/3 that goes to my interlocked generator plugin. To fix this, can I splice new wire in at 2 strategically placed JBoxes or do I need to run completely new cable, this run is over 75ft and is routed through a ton of finished space.

My plumber just dropped off a $3,400 invoice for what looks like $20 worth of PVC pipe, purple primer, and a muddy hole in my yard. 😐
Half the job seemed to involve standing ankle-deep in water scrolling through his phone while I watched the “labor costs” climb higher than my monthly mortgage payment.
Now I’m being told the price is justified because the work was “physically demanding.”
Listen… if you’re charging surgeon-level rates, I expect more than a trench full of mud and a faint smell of glue.
At this point, I want every single minute itemized — including the exact cost of getting his boots dirty. 💀

To whoever designed this old pipe cutter with that mysterious little spike on the side… what is going on here?

I get the cutting wheel. I get the rollers. I even understand the screw handle. All normal, all fine.

But then there’s this extra sharp little point just sitting there like it has a secret job nobody ever explained.

I’m not trying to use an old tool wrong and accidentally turn a simple pipe cut into a plumbing disaster.

So what is it really for?
Reaming the inside of the pipe? Cleaning up burrs after the cut? Some old-school feature only experienced plumbers instantly understand?

Tool experts, plumbers, and workshop people — what’s the actual purpose of that little spike?
