The Joslyn joins the Omaha metro in honoring the spirit of community, service, and appreciation for first responders by displaying 496 American flags on the Museum’s Grand Lawn. The flags represent 441 first responders and 55 military members who died on September 11, according to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

As a thank you, The Joslyn will offer complimentary admission for first responders to “Café Society: Art and Sociability in Paris, 1855–1914,” on view Sep 26–Jan 17. First responders should inquire upon arrival at the Museum’s Welcome Desk.

Get tickets now for Issa Trap Symphony on Thu Aug 27, 6:30–9:30 pm! 🎟️🎼

Presenting: Issa Trap Symphony—Afro-fusion. Dreamland Productions LLC, the Omaha Symphony, and the Joslyn Art Museum have partnered to bring the trap symphony experience to Omaha, a national trend of events in major cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., combining R&B, Hip Hop, neo soul, and trap elevated by an orchestra.

Presented in The Joslyn’s Witherspoon Hall, Issa Trap Symphony will feature four Afro-fusion artists: Kevin Paradise, Joe.EZ, AJII, and Kusher Snazzy—accompanied by a string ensemble of Omaha Symphony musicians. This night of art and music will also feature Ray Bae the DJ, Afrobaddie, Big Wade & Black Swan Theory, and visual artists Jevon Woods and Menice “Mars” Blackman.

Join us after the concert for a post-program mixer with cash bar, community, and conversation. Pre-program: 4–6 pm, guided gallery experiences in the Hawks Pavilion. General public, $40. Registration required at https://bit.ly/IssaTrapSymphonyTickets

We are delighted to present the exhibition, “Creative Aging,” on view in the Joslyn Building, Connect Gallery!

The Joslyn recently welcomed lifelong learners from the Intercultural Senior Center for three eight-session art class series. The beginner-friendly experiences were designed to explore a variety of art methods and materials and encourage social interaction and creative expression, providing support across language and cultural differences. For each series, participants enjoyed focused gallery visits, drawing inspiration from the Museum’s collection to approach their own artwork in the studio. A unifying theme was personal identity.

On view now through Jan 3, 2027; included in free general admission.
